Ya, my EB is selling the same thing for $40. Crazy since it was oh... FREE as a preorder for Wind Waker.
SPOILERS AHEAD. Only finish reading this post if you BEAT the game.....
I finished it today. Last 2 dungeons weren't a problem. Light sword is kind of a bogus last weapon to get, but hey, whatever. It kills those damn twili creatures in one hit so works for me. Anyway, by the twilight dungeon I was just thinking I wouldn't mind it if this game ended soon. It's so long and I wasn't sure i'd be able to finish it before going back to school Sunday. But then I get to fight Zant and that changed my mind. THAT was fun. It just kept going. Then ya get to fight Zelda and Ganon (Ganon-Ganon (aka the pig) finally makes a return!). The fact you fight Zelda is a nice twist and Ganon puts up a pretty damn good fight. Tricky one right there. I also like the horseback duel against him and then you get to finish the game right (something I was worried about) by getting to duel with Ganondorf. That was a hell of a lot harder then any fight you have with Ganon before in any Zelda game. Seriously took a good 10-15 minutes to beat him. Extremely satisfying when you manage to do so. So thoughts about the ending... Well, first I want to say that I like how Ganon basically knew and allowed everything to happen so he could return. You're not too sure what this game is about... Zant, Midna, Link, Zelda? But then you realize the whole thing is really about Ganon coming back which I like. Well, it was obviously about the others, but that was the main story arc i'd say. Anyway, couple thoughts after the ending... Feel free to discuss these:
-I wish they had focused on the relationship between Link and Ganon, esp. since this game takes place 100 years after Ocarina so Ganon knows full well who Link is. I also wish they focused on the relationship between Link and Zelda. Doesn't really seem there is much of one besides Link saving her.
-What happened to Ganon's body after he was "killed?" He'll obviously be back, that's for sure (that was a kool way he died by the way). Also, what was with Zant cracking his neck and then Ganon dying? I thought Zant was dead. Maybe it was symbolic in that it mean't that Zant (a spirt at that time i'll think of it as) was free from Ganon's grip over him. But then Zant clearly "worships" Ganon calling him his 'God."
-Also, just who is the "cursed swords man" that teaches you all the sword techniques? He called Link son so I thought he may have been his father. It's certainly possible that it's the Link from Ocarina of Time which was my first thought
End Spoilers
Anyway, great game. It was a lot of fun, especially towards the end. I look forward to the next one in the series on the Wii. One final thing. I know I was critical of the music esp. before playing the game since it's mostly midi... but a couple of the final boss battle themes that were done in midi format were great. Some of the best Nintendo has done i'd say. Then the final battle theme really shows what Nintendo can do with an orchestra. Classic Zelda game, definitely.
