ryuuseipro that was a very intelligent and informative response.

The only thing I might add is that whoever was writing the Godzilla comics for Dark Horse didn't really understand Godzilla.
For example the whole Godzilla in time thing was really lame.
Bad stories and the abscence of KG, Mothra and the rest of Toho's monsters
did not help sales one bit.

The stories would start out strong and then take bizarre and pointless turns such as the alien hunter story. Sorry I dont have the comics nearby. I think it is the first four issues.
They start out with a great setup, large aliens hunting Godzilla. This is part of a coming of age ritual. I guess. Godzilla is really getting is butt kicked. At one point is shot full of giant arrows. He is bloody and dazed nearly out for the count. But then they totally screw it up by bringing in the Ape aliens from G vs MG. There was a great battle between G and the first aliens but then it gets sidetracked by the second set of aliens. Apparently the apes have infiltrated the US army. So they help Godzilla recover in an attempt to begin their conquest of Earth. So now it is G and the apes against G-force and the giant aliens. A little battle occurs the apes are caught off guard and then it is over. Godzilla kills the apes by accidentant and the other aliens leave.

The next issue then started a whole new story arc.
That brief and lifeless recap I wrote is how the series was handled and why I think it failed.

Well I am sick of most superheros. However I do buy Detective Comics and Peter Parker Spider-Man, both are the secondary titles that have writers who understand the characters much more the hyped up titles (Ultimate Spider-Man= Yuck!) Writers who understand the importance of telling a strong story rather then some silly plot twist. (Wow, Batman actually acting like Batman!)

I'm also a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but I don't really consider then superheroes either.

PS-Dark Horse comics has been doing lots of horror comics lately, perhaps a sign of people wanting more divesity in comics?
