Every screen version of Anguirus is awesome. One of the great things about him is that he often performs absurd physical feats. One of my favorite moments in Godzilla vs. Gigan is when Anguirus repeatedly leaps backward a huge distance and slams his carapace into King Ghidorah. Then in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla he took up burrowing. I'm glad that Kitamura had the cojones to make Anguirus do that glorious rolling attack on film. Prior to that the closest thing was Anguirus in the Atari video games and Stegz in the Extreme Dinosaurs cartoon.
I recently watched the first episode of Extreme Dinosaurs on Netflix and Jesus Christ it's awful. It's so easy to not notice terrible writing and disjointed scene pacing being a kid in the mid-'90s. That used to be my favorite show. Now it's one of those things that's better left as a memory.
I'd like to see Anguirus traverse the ocean by floating on his back in a movie one day. Naval forces could attack him and he'd turn his armored side up and tear through them, then return to a leisurely drift.
