Well, ICv2 has posted the . And, well, the numbers are kinda depressing. :(

Kingdom of Monsters #10 clocked in at #183 with 9,294 copies sold, down from #182 and 585 copies sold from November. This is enough to drop the series out IDW's Top 10, down to #11.

Legends #2 landed at #192 and sold 8,465 copies, way down from #177 and 10,330 the month before. This places it at #13 for IDW.

This is the first time since IDW began publishing Godzilla comics that Goji hasn't been in their Top 10. :( To be fair, the Godzilla comics were up against some serious competition in December: THREE Ninja Turtle comics and The Death of Optimus Prime, plus GI Joe, Star Trek, Ghostbusters, and the Transformers ongoing. Hopefully both comics pick up steam and do better in January.

The only sad thing I think is being beaten by Ghostbusters, but I'd argue those other fandoms are all larger or as large as Godzilla.

If IDW wants to beef up sales for thier Godzilla books, they should use the Oodako!
Just having him on a cover is guaranteed to sell at least 3,000,000 copies if not more!!!!

ICv2 has released January's sale numbers.

Kingdom of Monsters #11 landed at #177 with 8,676 copies sold in January. That's 618 fewer copies sold than December, but we've gone up the chart from #183. Unfortunately, the comic has fallen further down IDW's chart to #12 (it was #11 last time).

Legends #3 came in at #187 with 8,012 copies sold, which moves us up the overall chart (from #192) but down IDW's chart to #15 (from #13 in December). This, in particular, leaves me disappointed 'cause I really loved this issue. :(

This is the second month since IDW started publishing Godzilla comics (in a row, at that) that Godzilla hasn't been in IDW's Top 10.

Looks neat. That Arthur Adams cover is gorgeous.

I hope the title also means more of a focus on Godzilla himself as the central figure.

Still, can't see myself going back to the monthly singles - but if reaction is positive I'll get the trades.

Looking forward to this. I quit collecting KOM after issue 5 as the artwork was absolutely horrible. I've seen snippets of other issues and saw issue 11 because I downloaded a torrent of it and wasn't impressed. The Victor Santos guy or whoever he was is a terrible artist IMO. I hope this new series is a significant step above what KOM was.
