This is interesting (and I didn't see it posted yet): in , Powell and Marsh mentioned that the current story arc (including the social satire/commentary) will end in Issue #8 (same issue as the Godzilla/Ghidorah fight they've hinted at). The following story arc, which sounds like it'll run until around Issue #16, will be a more post-apocalyptic storyline after the Monster apocalypse has caused society to crumble.

Looking back at Issue #5, it looks like the last seven pages (the Highway riot scene and Woods' return) are meant to foreshadow this. I think the dumping of the commentary/satire will probably please the critics, and I'm interested in seeing what they do with a post-apocalyptic setting (I wonder, how "post-apocalyptic"? I mean, Mechagodzilla still needs to be built by somebody...)

Yeah, but if that's the case, why do you need to say you don't like it or hate it every issue? I mean, by your own admission, you've said it before. If you can't repeat your reasoning, why repeat your claim?

The trend that disconcerts me is this - every time a new issue comes out, someone bashes it and explains why, then someone comes along and essentially says "Yes, you have valid points, and I realize this comic sucks, but I like it anyway!"

What, exactly, is there to like about Kingdom of Monsters?

I read comics for their storytelling possibilities, and at the very least, for amazing artwork, but this comic hasn't remotely met either of those criteria.

There is essentially no real narrative holding together any of the disparate threads in this comic other than "monsters are appearing all over the place and killing people and here's President Obama".

And like Godzilla 2000 said, you get the feeling that Powell and Marsh don't care about Godzilla and aren't putting much (if any) effort into writing a half-decent story.

I honestly think myself, and everyone else here put more effort and thought into our posts and discussions than the writers ever themselves attempted with this comic.
