Got the second issue today and enjoyed the hell out of it. A big improvement over Issue #1 in every way. A stronger human focus, a horrific Rodan, Godzilla's kept to the background, and Angurius was enjoyable. Really liked the father trying to avenge his children. It built off the deaths of the children in the first issue and made it into more than just something to establish the threat of Godzilla. He's quite a sympathetic character, but I honestly laughed at the way he died. I like dark humor. Hoping to see that mother and her child in Issue #3.

Not to be too nitpicky...but one thing that's bugged me about this series is the lack of build up to Godzilla using his heat ray. It's just treated matter of factly, suddenly he's melting things. For a way to do this right, see Gojira or G2K. Godzilla using his heat ray should be an event, just his fins charging up alone should melt lamp posts and cars and such...this is not a huge deal breaker with me, just something I've noticed.

This comic is funny as hell.

Hillarious parts:
-Ogden says he might “shoot lazers out of his eyes” like the stupid HB Godzilla
-guy thinking he'll kill himself and G and acting all badass then going pop while G goes WTF
-Fat Texas guy building a wall to keep monsters out
-creepy kid that wants to kill a cat gets eaten.

Awesome parts:
-Angilas introduction
-Angirus Sonic the Hedgehog attack
-Ogden and the reporters arguing.

I LOVE THIS COMIC!!!!!!
My only concern is that the back cover looked better than anything in the actual comic, but I do love Hester's Angilas.

For those claiming the book is too left leaning-
A-it's based on a series of movies with pretty heavy anti-war and pro-enviroment messages made in a foreign country that has been our enemy in war.
B-it's not like they're making fun of people with legitimate opinions or concerns, they're bashing morons like the birthers (how'd that work out lol) and the “build a wall” rednecks, people who I'm pretty sure most members of either party wouldn't want to be associated with.

I like it. I can see why some might call it "plain" as it kind of looks like something that might appear in a coloring book b/c of the thin lines & lots of "blank" space that is filled with color... But it's still a nicely done cover.
