the karloff wolfman was a project that was planed in 1932/33 and was scrapped for one reason or another and evolved into 1935's werewolf of london sans karloff.....it got as far as just a script.....

the lugosi frankenstein was robert florey's (the original director before he was replased by james whale) version of the script.....set to star lugosi , a screen test was made and is now concidered lost......... lugosi left the project and florey was replaced by whale who rewrote the script and discovered karloff for the role.... a portion of foreys script that was used as the test for lugosi was printed in the frankenstein magicimage filmscript book by phil riley....

the filmscript books are excellent but most (including frankenstein) are out of print and fetch BIG money for used ones....ive only managed to score three myself.......the dracula volume ...the frankenstein meets the wolfman volume..... and the chaney phantom of the opera volume........
