...but I hope as Jackson's King Kong nears completion, Gfan will give good coverage of it, despite him being an "American Monster" and not a "Japanese Kaiju". I know Gfan's main focus is mostly on Japanese Kaiju films, but I think in the case of this Kong remake, an exception should be made. Godzilla will always be the #1 kaiju in my book and the undisputed King of the Monsters, but Kong 33 was the first giant monster movie I saw and got me interested in the giant monster genre which quickly led to Godzilla, and it really paved the way for the whole "monster on the loose" genre (and was a great influence on the brilliant Japanese minds behind the original G54). And Kong has a big place in Godzilla's history (KKvsG, KKE), all the more reason to cover this film when it comes out. There are only so many "retrospective" and "looking back" articles of older films and "this year's Gfest recap!" articles that can be written before the magazine becomes stale during Godzilla's upcoming long hiatus, and with the Gamera rumor still just that, a "rumor", I would hope this new Kong film gets covered like it should by the magazine, as new major "Kaiju" film release, and not just mentioned on a few sidebars
