NECA Wish List

Postby The Great MM » Sat Aug 16, 2014 7:14 pm

PLEASE NO GODZILLA/PACIFIC RIM!!!!!!

With their Pacific Rim line and upcoming Godzilla series, I've become rather partial to NECA once again. I haven't had any real issues with their stuff, the only thing being a bad leg on a Cherno Alpha that I was able to return to store and swap for a new. I've just gotten their Cult Classics Jason Voorhees and am currently eyeing one of their Freddy Krueger figures. But with me getting back into horror figures alongside kaiju, I've realized several monsters/characters are missing that I desperately want to add to my collection.

Hopefully I'm not alone and other collectors have similar wish lists.

: One of my favorite modern B-monsters, Sharktopus' sheer design just screams for a figure.

: Alongside Ash from the Evil Dead trilogy, Burt Gummer (from the Tremors franchise) is really the only other, normal human character I'm interested in adding to the collection. I just hope if he's ever made, they put a TON of guns with him.

Graboid Family: Possibly in a pack, it would have to include your standard , , and . Possibly a Baby Graboid as well. Additionally, if they did touch the Tremors series, they'd also have to do an El Blanco figure as well.

: Really don't know how they could pull this off, but if they could do a "figure" of the 1980's Blob, I would be extremely happy just to see it next to my Movie Maniacs Thing and Fly.

: I would love to know why Lovecraftian creations are so rare in figure form. For years, all I've wanted was a good, properly designed figure of Cthulhu to sit in the collection.

: Don't know why, just always wanted a good, 6-7 inch figure of this guy. Would be neat to pose with a Godzilla or even Cthulhu if he ever gets a good figure.

: Clover is a monster I desperately want to be in my collection, but I'm not a big enough fan of it to shell out $300-some for it. Even if I was that big a fan... no. I'm rather surprised NECA didn't do a figure of this guy yet, but maybe when/if Cloverfield 2 gets made...

I'm sure I'll think of more later.

I would buy a Graboid or a Kothoga (The Relic) in a heart beat... i actually have the Hasbro Cloverfield but would ditch it in a heartbeat for something much smaller.

There are number of good Staypufts out there of various sizes, expressions, etc.

NECA has been hit or miss with me. Loved the 6" G14 and hope to get the 12" one soon enough but I wasn't all that impressed with the series 1 Knifehead and all the stories of broken joints in packaging (including the jaw of the huge Knifhead figure) and such has made me cautious of future purchases from them. So my list is more of wishlist of articulated figures in general (NECA, Figma, Tamashii Nations, Play Arts Kai, whatever).

Staypuft, and most of the Ghostbuster license, is pretty much a Mattel exclusive. At least in the realm of 6" or bigger articulated figures anyways. I'd love to see more Ghosbusters stuff, but Matty has basically run the well pretty dry. If someone was able to get the Ghostbusters license, I'd love to see a Terror Dog!

I totally want a Clover figure. Hasbro made (thanks Klen) a deluxe articulated figure but that was priced pretty high and only got higher. But yeah, unless there's a sequel I doubt it'll happen.

And I'd totally buy a Graboid family.

I'd love to have a good Hammer Dracula and VanHelsing, just to have some sweet ass Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing figures.

Has there been any good figures of the old school Universal monsters? A Gillman would be great.

I know that there has been some Metal Gear figures in the past but the ones I want slipped by when I couldn't purchase them and now are at OFR prices. I just want a MGS Snake and Metal Gear Rex. Kotobukiya has a snap together kit but it's now over $100 unless I want to get the newer black version. And Three A's Rex is fantastic and huge but was out of my price range even at it's cheapest.

My brain just went to giant monster land...but in hindsight a highly detailed, articulated figure of the monster from 'Mimic' would be cool

I know we're not suppose to mention Godzilla... but I'd really like for them to get the rights to some other Godzilla series monsters, at least the main ones (Mothra, Ghidorah, Rodan, and Mechagodzilla).

This is a completely out-there prospect, but I'd love for a 'Chambara' series with characters from Japanese samurai/sword-fighting movies: Zatoichi, Lone Wolf and Cub, Yojimbo, all seven of the Seven Samurai... oh, and Lady Snowblood!

... aren't we due for some more Harryhausen figures? The last time there was an action figure line was over a decade ago and those figures fetch pretty high prices. I'd like Talos, a skeleton, the Cyclops, Gwangi, and the big bird from Mysterious Island!

Classic King Kong line! Kong, B&W Kong, T-rex, stegosaurus, Son of Kong, Mighty Joe Young!

Oh man, how could I forget Gwangi!? I'd KILL for a figure of him in my collection.

Clover would be nice, but they probably won't do it. Gwangi would be nice too, especially if they do the Styraco and elephant. :P
I can hear really well and I am STRONGER than ever!

Having come to the discovery that NECA has been making Predators based on the old 1990's Kenner Predators (Lava Planet FTW!!!), I wish they'd do the same and make some Kenner-inspired Aliens. Imagine highly detailed figures of the , , , and . This line had a TREMENDOUS amount of kick ass ideas in it and with NECA using it as a basis for some Predators, let's see some Kenner Aliens return via NECA!

And it does seem somebody is making customs that NECA should look into...

+1 to Graboids, the Blob, and Gorgo. Reptilicus would be sweet too, and his design actually lends itself really well to an articulated figure.
