if you want to cross the Bay Bridge. moved to Haight St. in SF. I think you'll find more of what you're looking for at Kimono though (although it's been a couple of years at least since I've been there).

Heroes Club, the place where I discovered the existence of Japanese Godzilla toys when I was a kid.

I went to Cards & Comics. Didn't really have too much for Japanese sci-fi stuff, but it was still a pretty awesome shop. They had a pretty nice selection and wide variety of stuff. Definitely a cool place to check out regardless.
Stopped at Super 7 as well. A very small hipster store, but still also pretty cool. Cool shirts and art-prints if you're into that stuff. I picked up the well-known Godzilla monsters collage shirt. They had a handful of vintage vinyl (the more expensive stuff), and a bin of some random modern Bandais. Didn't pick up anything toy-related, but the guy there was very helpful and let me know that they can order toys for me or help me find stuff. I took some contact information just in-case.
I was about to go to Heroes Club, but I happened to go on the only day it was closed! Real bummer, as the front of the store looks awesome with huge statues (Kamen Rider and something else I've seen but can't identify). Sooo I'm going to try to make a trip back out there if I have time while I'm here for a few days yet. May just call them and see what they have in specific.
