What does everyone have autographed?

I don't have any kaiju related stuff signed but I do have autographs from various sports and musical stuff:

Obviously sports stuff is the easiest. Signed Baseballs, footballs, helmets, jerseys, hats, cards etc don't get too outta hand...not a lot of corollary between that and what you're asking though...


With musicians/bands, tickets to the concert are easy. When you go to a place to get something signed, does it have a program and/or ticket with the person's name on it?? That's an easy thing to get signed and then to maintain.

I also have a few autographed CDs (similar to a DVD, but like you, i'm not a fan of that because then i feel like i just lost playability and need to go get another copy)

and of course, my baby...

I have a signed one of these from when i met metallica.
Still need to get a case for it.

The only kaijuu related item I have signed is the R1 DVD release of GMK, signed by Shūsuke Kaneko, back when he dropped by at a local convention. I also got Norman England to sign a DVD of his self-made film at the same convention... I think that guy posts here.

I general I get 8x10 photos of the famous person signed. Off the top of my head, I have Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Ricou Browning (Gillman, water scenes), Julie Adams (first love interest for the gillman), and Haruo Nakajima (if you don't know...why are you here?).

In general, if the persion played a creature or masked/helmeted character, I try to get an 8x10 of them in the costume, but with the mask off so you can see the person & the character they played. I have these for Mr. Nakajima, Mr. Browning, and Mr. Mayhew*.

Besides 8x10s, I also have a repro lobby card poster of Godzilla: King of the Monsters signed by Haruo Nakajima and a chirashi poster of Godzilla Final Wars signed by Don Frye.

The only non paper item I can think of that I have autographed is a mini reproduction Bullmark Hedorah signed by Yoshimitsu Banno. But it's still in the mini-bag with header card & I got him to sign the header. It came in a small box with a little trading card picture of the figure, which I also got him to sign.

*a funny (i guess) aside, I met Mr. Mayhew at SDCC a couple of years ago & got his autograph. I was with my brother (also getting his signature) & we were talking to him & taking pictures as he signed. Only after the show when I got home did I notice he misspelled Chewbacca (leaving out the "w"). I guess we distracted him... Ah well, it makes it more unique I suppose. I actually think it'd be quite fun to track him down at another con some time & bring the picture & ask him to add the "w"!
