Longtime fan of Ultraman & Godzilla, and recent lurker finally decided to post something. :)

Anybody collecting the new Ultraman: Ultra-Act series from Bandai?

I got back into Ultraman not too long ago, since I picked up the original Ultraman series on DVD. I haven't seen these episodes since my early childhood back in the 1970's. It was fun to watch my old hero again.

Anyway, I heard some things about the new Bandai Ultra-Act action figure series and liked what was being issued. I just got my Ultra-Act Ultraman in the mail took, and took a few quick pics...

I liked that the ray beam has a lighter painted middle than the rest of the beam creating a real nice effect.

Overall, I really like the figure with all of its articulation and extra accessories. I did come across a couple of loose joints, but I can probably fix those issues with clear nail polish.

I got Belial coming in the next day or so. Watching Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legends movie on youtube recently convinced me to pick him up. Pretty entertaining movie, and Belial has a pretty dynamic design. I'll have pictures of him once he arrives.

I'll get Gomora next, but I have to pace myself on these items as they are not cheap. Gomora was one of my favorite kaiju from the original series and he's even more of a badass in the recent movie.

I can see I'm going to be addicted to this line. :D

My Ultra-Act Belial came in today. Now, I have somebody to face off with my Ultraman.

Some quick thoughts and pics.

He's a pretty awesome figure with similar articulation to Ultraman. You can easily get him into a number of poses. The added articulation to the mouth and open palm hands are a nice touch. Belial is bit tighter with the joints than Ultraman.

I'm also getting a Venom, Carnage, and Darth Maul combination vibe from this guy. The textured detail on his body along with the nice paint apps really give this guy a sinister look.

His accessories are pretty cool including the Giga Battle Nizer. You can add effects to the weapon, which look pretty cool with some of the poses.

He's definitely worth getting!

Are you serious?! Baltan II includes mini Baltans?

That figure, probably the one I've anticipated most from this line, even more than Gomora (WHERE THE HELL IS MINE), just got 2000% cooler.

Overall, I'm really happy with Gomora. This is a pretty solid figure. The sculpt has some great details that stay true to Gomora's design. The paint apps look really good on him. Articulation is well done on the figure, especially the way the joints are segmented on the tail. He comes with only a couple of extra accessories for his energy blast and the cutoff tail, but he really doesn't need much more given his heft.

QC issues are nonexistent on this figure as the joints are pretty tight. Gomora is a nice start for the monsters in this line. It makes me really look forward to the upcoming Eleking.

I hope Bandai does a Godzilla line like this!

I must own Gomora and Eleking. Belial's not bad, either.
