This guy is an ass. An outright, unadulterated jackass.

He probably would have slit his wrists if he was trying to collect in the mid-to-late 1990s. People like him who think their vulgar, angry opinions matter are the reason why Youtube (and to be frank, most of the internet) sucks so hard these days. I'll agree that toys seem to be getting unreasonably expensive these days but this guy goes above and beyond with his inanity. And don't get me started on his rant about the old tin toys.

This guy really needs to shut his fool mouth. Really. I'm so sick of people like him who, from the comfort of their parents basements, sit on the computer and make Youtube videos where they kvetch and moan about everything using the most foul language possible, as if they're smarter than everyone else and have everyone and everything figured out when the absolute truth is they're nothing but ignorant malcontents who, even when they have a point, are so ridiculously obnoxious that they're better off ignored.

Again, I don't know how some collectors would have survived in the mid-1990s, when prices like $200 for the Showa Baragon (which was only about 5 years old) were almost the norm. In this day and age of smaller toys, multiple internet dealers, instant communication and ebay collectors do have it better than ever, even if some dealers are still pricing like it was 10 years ago.

Yeah...kinda odd. My complaint isn't price..it's availability. Some items seem like they're practically discontinued before I even hear about them. grrrr...(e.g X-plus Gappa). But price has never been that big an issue with me because...in the end..I'm the buyer. If it's too much...I negotiate if I can and if I can't I reply with a polite "no thank you". Easy as that.

Been a while since I posted here. Good to know the crazies haven't gone anywhere!

This guy is an idiot. I don't understand what he's complaining about. I mean, he makes his case that "these are toys...these are ****ing toooyyysss!!!!" meant only for children to be played with, but in that case, why is he complaining about not being able to afford them?

To say that this hobby ain't what it used to be is a grotesque understatement, but there seems to be a whole new generation of Godzilla collectors who know absolutely nothing about what they're really buying. I can understand how some people just want one of each monster or whatever, but whining that the only Baragon you could find is too expensive (and being totally ignorant about the fact that it's a '92 Bandai and what it's really worth) is ridiculous.

Has anybody explained to this guy that almost nobody relies on Godzilla toy sales for their livelihoods? The guys and gals who run the eBay accounts and websites selling this stuff have, like, real jobs. They don't care if they have to hold onto their stock for as long as it takes to get their asking price because it's just extra income and they will usually make well over what they paid to get the figure in the first place.

My favorite bit in this guy's rant is complaining that because of the state of the economy, toy sellers are acting unethically for overpricing their toys. I love it - his example is somebody who lost their job and is "barely getting buy" being forced (!) to pay $75 for a vinyl figure. Uh, if you can't afford to pay your mortgage or for food, you don't need the toy in the first place.

I didn't catch where he said someone got a Bandai Baragon for $17. That's a true exception to the rule. I picked up the figure in 1992 for $15.50 when it was brand new and that was a straight yen to dollar conversion with no mark-up. In 2006 I upgraded the figure for an almost dead mint specimen (aside from a small horn rub) with a beautiful attached tag for $100 and felt that I did all right. Certainly better than the $200+ people were shelling out over a decade ago. Early '90s Bandai figures are not going sell for $15-$20. Period.
