I guess my questions are... where's the switch to turn the LEDs on, and how do you change the batteries?

There's a cover on the back that's held on with magnets (thin strips on the back, super-strong round magnets on the cover. If you look on the photo of the back you can see the edges of the cover, between the outer rows of back spines. There isn't a switch (wish there was) you just have to connect and disconnect the battery for it to be on or off.

WOW those custom figs are awesome! They look a bit cartoony but that makes them really unique. The legs are in a stiff position but other than that, they are pure awesomeness! The pic in the dark with the glowing crystals is just soooo cool! Maybe you can pick up where FarEast Monsters left off and start your own Kaiju figure company?

howze01: I just do these as a hobby. I've had a few people contact me wanting to commission me to do some sculpts for them but it never works out, people usually don't want to pay even what the materials are worth. Wouldn't mind getting into something like this as a job someday though! Yeah they take quite a bit of time to do at this scale but the smaller ones go a lot quicker- the next few projects will be smaller.

Mysterio: thanks for the tip about the switches. I probably won't modify this one but if I do any more projects with lighting that would be a great idea!

I saw the FarEast guys at a toy show a year or 2 ago and gave them a link to some of my work but never heard back from them- they seemed like a smaller operation but I figured it couldn't hurt to show them. I'd love to do resin casts of some sculpts someday, like garage kits or smaller figures.
