The Vinyl Figure Awards round 51: Angilas 1968 REMATCH

Ok, I need to talk about toys for a little bit. There hasn't been a lot of activity around these parts lately. That's been understandable, as new toy releases from just about everyone have slowed down to a trickle. I've wanted to put up some new toy spotlights (as well as send a few more articles over to Vinylmadness) but I haven't really had the time or the drive lately. Lots of stuff going on and a lot of things have been sitting on the back burner for a while.

But I figured it would be nice to come up a couple more Vinyl Figure Award rematches. I haven't gotten much that justifies many new rounds, but the Marmit Iron Joe built up kits that I've received lately have wowed me and I'm interested in seeing how they stack up against the competition, and I love reading people's opinions on toys like these.

This round will go the the late 60s/early 70s version of Angilas. The first time I did this was way back in 2006 and I don't think that thread exists anymore.

The Champions:

Image
Marmit's Monster Heaven Angilas, released in 2005. Definitely a favorite figure, and the matte finish vinyl works in it's favor.
Previous standing: first place

Image
Bandai 6" Angilas figure, first released in the Godzilla Island series in 1998 as well as appearing in the Toho Kaiju and Movie Monster series, the 2005 Memorial Box and in the "1955" Toy Dream Project set.
Previous standing: second place

Image
Bandai's original 8" Angilas figure, first released circa 1990. The 6" figure was derived from this mold. This figure also showed up in the 1995 Memorial Box set.
Previous standing: third place (tie)

And here's Marmit's Para Baby Angilas, released in 2003
Previous standing: third place (tie)

The Challenger:

This Iron Joe kit was released a few years back but was lucky enough to be re-released last year. Like most of the kits it was also available prepainted and built in vinyl figure form, justifying it's inclusion here. This figure was factory assembled, and it's quite a beaut.
