Round 47 of the Vinyl Figure Awards goes to the third and final Yog, Monster From Space kaiju. And that would be Gamera's tropical cousin Kameba. We have four nominees this round, same as Gezora and Ganime, as expected.

First up is Bullmark's own Kameba figure, released in 1970. I didn't know Kameba stood on two legs, or had no teeth, or had fish lips. But apparently the gang at Bullmark thought so. Will vintage take this one home?

This Kameba was released as part of the Bandai Museum line in 2004. It started the trend of having Kameba figures with extending necks, which all the following entires also have. The Museum Yog figures have won first in all their rounds so far, so maybe this time it will be three for three.

Here's Marusan's Kameba figure, released in 2005. Another extending neck, and the only vintage style Kameba on four legs.

And finally here's Marmit's built-up version of their Iron Joe Kameba kit, released this year. It has an interesting stance falling between biped and quadruped but the same extending neck as the other.

I think it's interesting how all three of the Space Amoeba kaiju have had the same four company lines representing them in their respective polls (Bullmark, Bandai Museum, Marusan, Marmit Iron Joe), and my opinions of all of the figures in the polls have remained almost exactly the same each time.

That Bullmark figure doesn't even look like Kameba, more like some frog/fish mutation fetus that would have been spawned in the same water as Hedorah. I felt the same about the Bullmark Ganime, although their Gezora was really cool.

The Marusan Kameba is just bland. The undetailed sculpt, wonky paint job, and shiny finish to the vinyl just makes it underwhelming in every aspect, just like the company's Gezora and Ganime figures. However, I do think they're interesting if you look at them as the kaiju shrunk down to mantletop decorative pieces.

The Marmit Iron Joe Kameba looks awesome. Between the sculpt and the stance, and the badass black paint job, this would be a great revamped look for Kameba should the monster ever return to film. Hell, I think it'd be wonderful if a future movie brought back the whole Space Amoeba kaiju trio sporting their Marmit Iron Joe designs. They're great.

But my vote goes to the Bandai Museum Kameba. Just like its counterparts, this is a nigh-perfect representation of how the character looked in the film.

Mike, you think whenever you have a chance you could post some pics of the Space Amoeba trio together as represented by each of the four different companies? That'd look sweet.
