The Vinyl Figure Awards round 40: GOROSAURUS REMATCH

The Gorosaurus vinyl figure poll was the very last Vinyl Figure Awards round I did last year. I wanted to hold out as long as I could in the off chance that Marmit's Monster Heaven Gorosaurus would see release in time to be included. That of course never happened, and I didn't even get that figure until a good 6 months later. So here it is, challenging last years champions. Maybe it has what it takes to beat the competition.

The Champions:

Previous standing: first place

Previous standing: second place

The Challenger:

It was a long time in coming, but here's Marmit's Monster Heaven Gorosaurus. Will it be the ultimate champion?

I really, really wanted to be able to vote for the Marmit figure. I really did. But as much as I love the paint job, something about the head sculpt and the body stance throws me a little bit. So in the end I voted for the original Bandai figure again.

Lets see what happens this time. I was shocked to see the Bandai Museum figure win last time. I had expected the original Bandai toy to clean house.

Last time I was torn between the Bandai and the Bandai Museum. I decided to go with this:

But now that I think about it, the simplicity of the regular Bandai really reflects the Gorosaurus as seen in the flicks. It's more true to character, and it gets my vote this time.

LOL, I had a feeling someone was going to dig up the picture I used for the Bandai Museum Gorosaurus last year. I just had to showcase a less flattering angle for the figure this time around, because I still can't believe it took first place.

For years I have been singing the praises of the Marmit Monster Heaven line. They truly have accurately and spectacularly captured some classic and more obscure kaiju, such as Varan, Gigan, Megalon, MG, Titanosaurus, Angilas 68, Hedorah, Manda, Kumonga, Kamacuras, King Seasar, Ebirah, etc. just to name a few off the top of my head.

Sadly, their Gorosaurus figure was a huge disappointment...I remember how excited I was about Marmit releasing a MH Gorosaurus figure...definitely not one of their better figures in this line. Marmit, what went wrong here???! :( The same thing also happened with the Baragon and Space Godzilla figures....both were total disasters IMO.

The Gorosaurus Bandai Musuem figure is one of the best of that line....and believe me, that doesn't say a whole lot about the line. I saw this figure in Akihabara for a fairly cheap price....and I didn't buy it....just not that great of a figure. Once again, I will ask the question....what the hell do people see in the Bandai Musuem line that is so great that they receiving so many votes??? Am I missing something here???? :?: For the most part their figures are pretty god awful to occasionally slightly above mediocre (such as this figure).

The undisputed crown still goes to Bandai's original Gorosaurus figure......awesome figure and one of my favorite figures in my entire collection, regardless of company or scale. :Big-th-up:

Thanks for the offer and I'll keep it in mind, but I'm just recovering from a Super Robot binge. X_O.

Kind of on Topic, are there any color variations of the MH Gorosaurus?
