I'm not holding my breath that the new Biollante is going to be all that impressive. I preordered it just in case, because I am silly like that, but the retail Bandai vinyls haven't been too impressive so far. Almost makes me wish it was an exclusive like the Gargantuas and Frankenstein, or got the same attention as the Sofvi Spirits Raijin.



Same as the Robot Spirits Pacific Rim 2 line, Raijin is getting a North American release and even has and BigBadToyStore.

^ Man, I'd love for them to do vinyls of Otachi or Onibaba.

I thought I saw a kaiju with a body style like Onibaba in the last trailer, but I could be very wrong about that. Unfortunately, it's not as likely that we'll get Pacific Rim kaiju in the line, just Uprising. Right now I'm just hoping the line moves past Raijin first.

Looks like Kaiyodo has a new daimajin figure coming out. Too bad he doesn’t come with all the chains like the old figure they made years ago.

What chains? This looks identical to Sci-Fi Revoltech Daimajin.

Whoops, forgot all about those really old Kaiyodo vinyls, let alone recalling how they had actual chains. Those were definitely some cool toys back in the day, do kinda wish I got more into the Daiei vinyls back then, but I at least still have at least one of the Gamera X-Plus vinyls from then, I think.

Sooo happy about these! Of course I still have to wait and see that they're actually released. Several Ultra kaiju never got made in the leap from Ultra-Act to SHF. The great part is that the two I most want, Gudon and Twintail, have the best chance of seeing a release as tie-ins to go with Jack.

First image of the new bandai Biollante vinyl. Not bad, but I wish the vines were a bit thinner.

The problem might be that she's actually so small in scale that those ARE rather thin vines. We'll have to wait and see.

Man, that is a gorgeous statue. And in typical Prime 1 fashion, it comes with numerous interchangeable parts that can really vary the display.

I’m sure some people will be disappointed how the back tendrils are molded up against the figure and thus not poseable. Personally I don’t mind too much. It’ll make it easier to fit on a shelf.

That last sentence speaks to me

someone please post a pic of Biollante with another figure next to it so i can see if double the price of other figures currently being sold is justified. Really do not want to pay like $70 for that and the new Kiryu. $35 - $40 a piece? ouch !!!

$40? My biollante was $15.99 from HLJ. Can’t help you with pics though, because mines still in transit. Will be a few more weeks probably before she gets here.

I did see a pic on another site that showed she scales better with 4 inch candy toys than with 6 inch figures.

Well, my shipping was almost $17 for registered SAL (the cheapest trackable method) but I had $130 worth of bandai and Mafex figures in my order.

Shipping for one vinyl figure to the US is about $12 for registered SAL (trackable) or $8 for regular SAL (untrackable).

So $24 to $28 off HLJ if biollante was all you bought.

Yeah it is. It’s making the (apparently) $100 price tag of the SHMA even harder to swallow. Personally, after looking closely, I most assuredly prefer the SHMA. But at a staggering one QUARTER the price, the NECA isn’t *that* much worse looking...

I prefer the articulation points on the Neca. Only clear difference is that the shma has the messy feet from the film

Yep, I definitely prefer the SHMA. But, the NECA ain’t bat AT ALL. The question is, do I prefer the SHMA enough to spend and extra $75....? I just don’t know yet.
