I'm going to echo a little of what ebirahsmeg just said. These things are just far too expensive for what you're actually getting. I like them a lot but they're definitely not perfect, which they should be for the price you pay.

However I do feel like the X-Plus Angilas is leagues ahead of the Marmit kit (which i still a great likeness either way) and probably my favorite out of the four figures I own so far. Like ebirahsmeg I still like the Bandai Gorosaurus better than the X-Plus but a lot of that may just be nostalgia talking because thr X-Plus figure does have a really strong sculpt for the most part. I love the body and tail sculpts and oddly it's best angle may be from the back. I think what the figure needs is a stronger paint job (the actual suit was a deeper green) and an open mouth. I see what ebirah means when he says the figure lacks energy.

Gigan is my least favorite so far. It's definitely not the worst Gigan - that honor goes to the Bandai Museum figure - but there are a lot of little things wrong with it that throw it off. The head, arms and tail are too small compared to the body, legs and back fins. The proportions are definitely off. And I don't like the "leaning back" pose or the fact that it's out of scale with the other Showa figures in the line. I guess that's because X-Plus sculpted this one themselves instead of using a MM28 mold. The Marmit kit may be a little more toy-like with the obvious seam in the neck joint but it's miles away the more true-to-film sculpt. I also agree with ebirah that the MH and Gigabrain Gigans are stronger overall figures than the X-Plus.

And that brings me to the Godzilla. I want to like it. I want to like it a lot. And for the most part I do like it a lot. But the misaligned lower jaw really bugs me. A quality control issue like this should not exist with something this expensive. And while I know I'll get used to it I would have preferred a different pose than Godzilla looking up in the air. Still it's probably the best-looking 1968 Godzilla in my collection although my personal preference is still with the Monster Heaven figure.

Here are some photos, but honestly this thing looks a lot better in person:

Head on view. The wonky lower jaw is obvious even from far away.

The scale seems good with the Gorosaurus. Hard to tell because of the way Goro is bending over.

It scales great with Angilas. In fact, I'd say if you could only buy two of these figures, these two would be the one's to get.

Gigan is supposed to be a little bigger than Godzilla.

With the Marmit and Bandai figures for size reference.

I've gotta agree on the general sentiment to these X-plus figures. While I understand the reason/logistics behind the high price, I can't help but feel they're still just too expensive for what they are. Add to that the lack of consistency from scales to quality control & it just doesn't add up to a $200+ figure.

Personally, I'd rather see these being released as unbuilt vinyl kits at half (or less!) the price. The sculpts are great, but the build & paint job are inferior to what I could do myself & certainly not worth the price, imo. I realize that if you're not going to build a model yourself then a (slightly) mass produced prebuilt kit would be cheaper than commissioning the job out, & that's where the market for these is. But it'd be awesome if they did what marmit does sometimes by offering both prebuilt & regular model kits so those of us who want to can buy the kit (now in vinyl! much easier to build & less costly than the original resin) & build it ourselves for much cheaper.

Revoltech Baragon pictures. I'll let them speak for themselves:

It doesn't scale at all with anything in a 8" or 6" scale...

BUT it scales great with Bandai's Ultimate Godzilla figures...

I picked up a Bandai Creations Final Wars Angilas at my local CVS Pharmacy. It's cool that CVS carries these figures. I also have a Godzilla 2000 (love that figure) and have seen Mechagodzilla. I'd love to get me a Destroyah.

^^

Good luck finding a Destoroyah with it's wings still attached. Everywhere I go, I find them missing their left wing.
