The 30cm line has more accurate releases for the most part, though there are some nice 25cms.

My X Plus has dwindled down to the Gigantic 95...I've sold/selling the rest in favor of getting into SHMA. I like both lines, but SHMA fits more with my budget and my limited space.

Just paid for my Gigantic Burning G, so that should be coming sometime within the month. Debated on if I should pass it up at first, but seeing pictures and knowing how desired it will soon become, I decided to go through with the pre-order. Looking forward to it!

The rest of my X-Plus stuff (excl. Matango) is being sold on ebay right now (Gargantuas, GMK 01, 03, 04, Gamera 95). The only X-Plus I would've like to had would've been a 30cm Kiryu, but too late for that now. Maybe I can hope for a Gigantic or Diamond reissue haha. Of course there's always the SHMA Kiryu too, which would save me a lot of money...

Thank you so much for your adorable pictures, klen. It's great seeing a figure like this outside of shots of it collecting dust on a shelf, and I totally admire your willingness to let your girl (carefully) play with it. :)

keyword "carefully" She often asks to take my X-Plus Mothra (because she has a Marmit Mothra) out of the display case, but i worry about the antenna breaking too much to let that happen.

Just picked up Godzilla 2003 from the local Hastings for $106. This is my first X-Plus, so I don't think I was prepared for just how detailed and gorgeous the figure was when I got it out of the box. I'm really hoping I don't become addicted because I can see these things making my wallet bleed profusely.

I just got the new Gojira '54 Diamond reissue and sadly, the paint job SUCKS!

Looks like they focused on the dorsal fins, eyes and claws and just left the entire figure in a monotone charcoal gray. No highlights or defined painted details and the mouth is completely charcoal gray with teeth and tongue unpainted. Really rushed job and can't see why. I preordered in May. They had enough time to tighten up.

Perhaps it's an error? Has anyone else reported the same issue? That's a shame if that's really what it's supposed to be like.

The figure IS monochrome, it's supposed to be Godzilla as he appeared in the original B&W film. Hence no highlights or other colours. It's supposed to be an accurate on-screen representation. I believe the '54 was released in a very limited (Wonderfest, maybe?) edition that did have some colouration, but the standard, widely-released '54 is just like yours. I've got him too and, while he does stick out a bit on the shelf next to the more colourful figures, he looks great and true to his appearance in Gojira. They did the same thing with G '55 & Angilas '55, released in monochrome to reflect the B&W film they appeared in.

*edit* Although I will say, they could've at least painted the teeth white.

I'll pass on this one. The Banprestos (brown & gray) that I have are hard to beat (especially for $30 each). This X-Plus doesn't even come close.

I know its monochrome but the japanese ones are fully detailed b/w and teeth and mouth are colored in shades of gray.

I painted this Gojira '54 with just black, off-white, and two shades of gray. So, it should be a standard.
