I'm starved for Showa Godzilla figures. I'd get a few, but would especially love my three favorite suits: '54, '62, and '64.

I dunno about the arms but, based strictly on pictures, I'm pretty confident the hands on the 94 & 84 are two different sculpts. And the super skinny arms are accurate for 1984. It just doesn't stand out in the film much b/c he keeps them tucked up near his body with the elbows bent well past ninety degrees.

Personally I'm still holding out hope the 84 looks better in person since it's always been my favorite suit. I'd like to see them do just about any Showa sculpt, G2000 or GMK. Oh and a decent G 89/91. So.... Basically every Godzilla suit except Kiryu-goji (I really dislike that suit. A lot. It's mostly the face and fins that kill it for me.)

So my replacement 1994 figure came in today. Everything looks good, everything moves. The head is a little stiff, but that's fine, I'm just not going to try and move it at the top of the head anymore. There's some weird coloring on the leg, and this figure seems to be a bit greener than the last one. But at the end of the day, he's intact. So it's cool with me

Edit: I touched his head, heard a crack, and now his head is super pose able. So I guess it CAN move.

Picked up the 94 NECA today, and its a solid figure. In hand, it doesn't look green at all, although the skin does have a shine to it. The tail is definitely small, like the entire existing tail should have been the add-on to a much larger tail base, but I doubt anyone outside of us G-fans would notice. Its very poseable. Like I said, solid figure, and I'd really like to see this line continue so I'm happy with the thought of my purchase helping to support the line.

I saw the 24" 2014 while I was there. There was only one on the shelf, and I decided to pass. :? I thought it'd be an easy impulse buy, but I wasn't feeling it at that moment. I prefer the much darker hue of the 12". Although that chest gap that klen highlighted before didn't seem as bad in person.

Finally got the 24" NECA, and the right side of the jaw keeps popping out when I open the mouth. Has this been mentioned as a problem before? I can pop it in, and it stays, and I can open the mouth a TINY bit, but nothing beyond that.
Additionally, the left leg seems to have Ben attached a little lower than the right, so it can't sit flush with the rest of the body and has a slight gap above the top of the leg.

So I saw a few posts on Facebook about NECA having the rights or whatever to do Mutos. Does anyone one have anything more concrete than just random people saying thing on social media? I know they said they weren't really interested in them, but I took that as A) we don't have the legal ability to make them or B) they're too cost prohibitive to make at this point.

Randy confirmed last week via the NECA Twitter account that NECA only has the rights to all versions of Godzilla and the MUTOs (no other friends or foes). However, because they don't believe in the sales strength of either MUTO, NECA has no plans to do either. Timothy's silly epithet in the thread title "Godzilla company" certainly takes on a new meaning.

Sadly enough, NECA already has about as many Godzillas out or coming out as they have done with other figure lines. I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing repaints now of everything they have already released such as Charging Up Godzilla, Orange Glow Godzilla, Red Lava Godzilla, Black and White Godzilla (if they actually do a 54 version), Burning Godzilla (for 94), Translucent Blue Godzilla, etc.

There are 3 more sculpts, I think to be revealed. I'm guessing they'll do the 54, but I don't expect a 2004, simply because making a 64 or 74 would make for more retools.
64 (Mothra vs. Godzilla version or Ghidrah version)
74 (vs. MechaGodzilla, vs. Megalon, Terror of, Fake MechaGodzilla)
94 (Obvious Burning Godzilla version)

I'd really love a 04' Goji.

Nah, with the video game nostalgia kick NECA is on, I bet we'll get Video Game Godzilla.

You know, the 94 is a solid figure, but, well, I put him along side the SHMA Junior, and, well......don't do that. Its not the sculpt of the NECA that bothers me when its alongside the SHMA, its the finish. The shiny really looks awful, and its even real shiny when put alongside the NECA 2014. By itself it looks great, but its a finish that we don't normally see on G figures.

That's what I've been saying. Flat Top Coat will dull that though. I prefer my Godzilla's to have a flat matte texture, rather than shiny. Other monsters though are different.

From that single image, that Godzilla 1954 might be the best NECA Godzilla yet. Will need to see more pics later, of course, full-body from more than one angle. No surprise that the other reveal is a Burning Godzilla redeco.
