Well I decided to say **** it and just ordered the Revoltech Rodan off Amazon with some of my birthday money. I'm not a fan of Revoltechs, but I just don't see Bandai making a Showa Rodan MonsterArt any time soon.

I think I'm done with SHMAs for awhile MKG was a bit irritating having three bad figures in a row. If something like Megaguirus or more Showa figures comes out I'll probably get those but for the most part I'm pretty much done with SHMA. I have the G2K Repaint on preorder but that's for resale purposes later on.

Yeah... given how many people are aware of what happened to the first Godzilla 2000, the fact that it's even less screen-accurate and hasn't put a dent in the impact of the first one, not so sure you'll be seeing much of a return on an investment like that. Maybe if this was the frigging DBZ line where figures selling out and going for insane money was becoming more frequent and happening sooner.

aaand now it seems I have a reason to put more figures over priority.

SHFiguarts Winspector team! Wondering when those will get a release.

Speaking of Dragon Ball Z...

What are the odds of a Tienshinhan SHFiguarts...?

Got my Revoltech Rodan today and man is he awesome (pics in the New Toys thread with comparisons to the MA Rodan). My only complaint is he too damn small for the MonsterArts, even 64 Godzilla, but god dammit, I am so happy to have a 56 Rodan figure. So much so that I've decided to order Mothra and Baragon from Mandarake since before shipping they are 6,500Y together. I know Mothra is much smaller than she should be, so that is disappointing, but I really really REALLY want the original Mothra design, which is what the Revoltech is based on. Scale be damned!!!!!!!!!

In fact, I think I might change my top shelf around and replace the Mothra and Rodan MAs on it with the Revoltech ones and put the recolored 2000 on there when I get him since he is going to act as a Kiryu Godzilla for me until an actual one comes out.

I know a lot of people do scalp toys in fact I heard a rumor that someone took some inheritance money bought a bunch of toys with them and took said toys to G-Fest to resell at higher costs than what they paid for them. To me that's a lot worse thing to do.

I don't think it's a terrible thing to do. It's basic supply and demand. Most people are fine with things they own accruing more value over time. But when it's something they don't have but want, you're suddenly a terrible person for selling it at the prices people are willing to pay.

I will admit I think it's kind of crappy when someone waits outside for a store to open to rush in and buy up all the rare or desirable figures/toys right as they hit the shelves before anyone else has a chance at them, only to resell them at huge markups. But, on the other hand, the reason they do that is because people buy from them at those markups. I see so many people complain about modern toy scalpers, and yet somebody out there keeps buying from them...

But buying an extra or two to set aside and hope to resell later for a profit? To me that's no different than making any other investment. You're taking the risk that the value will increase. It may not.

I also find it interesting that people generally only see this as a problem with new or recent toys. Most older toys (that are still desirable to collectors) cost quite a bit more than their original retail price but people don't generally have a problem with that. Only if it's new.

For the record, I've never bought a toy for investment with resale in mind - not worth the hassle to me. In fact, I very rarely sell anything from my collection (and when I do it's usually at garage sales for far less than original SRP)

I agree with you canofhumdingers I don't like the fact that people go into the store just to buy all the figures, but I don't see any issue with buying a figure to resell later on.

People shouldn't get upset at people buying figures with the intent to resell later.

I'm liking this recolor a lot. I really like the plastic on this one. It feels a little bit softer than the others and the back plates don't feel like they will break if they get bend. I really wish it came with something rather than nothing but I'm glad I was able to get this figure with it's web exclusive box untouched by a shipping label. So far the only web exclusive that I have ever had a shipper post a label on it was MKG. Still hoping there will be a Muto figurearts in the future.

That looks great! Did they come in from Amazon already? Its good to know that the materials are softer. I rather like that.

On the subject of recolors and reissues, what's the chance of King Ghidorah getting reissued? I saw it at the Akiba show room on display.

I just hope the next Ghidorah they do is the Showa one.

Anyway, that 2000 does look pretty awesome in your pics. I hope he is that great in person.

As for when Amazon will ship him, given Bluefin's track record lately, probably at the end of July/early August. I just got a notification that my Kuuga Figuart will be shipping at the end of his month and he came out in Japan in April.

Showa Ghidorah would be an amazing one to do. That mane Showa Ghidorah has would be interesting to be seen on a figure like this.

But I sort of want Grand Ghidorah or Death Ghidorah too...

I think Tamashii knows that we all really want a Keizer Ghidorah most of all.
