Reminds me a bit of KiryuGoji actually. Naruto65's comment about North American market makes more sense really. All my friends who missed out a G2K and didn't get it are excited to get one.

I'm glad it's a repaint taking up a slot. Gives me some time to catch up and something to pass up on.

I see this as a bit of a breather. 2015 is not yet here, so who knows what we'll see. I want Mutos yo.

If you & others perceive it that way, I guess so. Godzilla (Adult Jr) sold out in Japan in the first 2 weeks, now that's a ridiculously short amount of time.

So.... What you want is a SHMA figure to last for a year before it's acceptable to be sold out? I don't think that'll happen again with any popular figure that comes out of this line. If they pumped these out like some toy lines in production waves, yeah it would be possible. But they don't. They make a giant batch of them and their done. The good news is for regular releases, they have a chance of being re-issued if they sell quick and well. The only SHMA figure to be successful in this area was Godzilla (1994), and now, even though they're not technically calling it a re-issue, Godzilla 2000 Millennium. I think we were spoiled with previous releases sitting on shelves for a while which definitely has led to some collector's frustration with this line.

I'm pretty sure this new G2KM will sellout even faster than the first due to popularity and that they're bringing over a limited quantity being a web exclusive.

This is pretty much a supply and demand issue.I'm with Naruto65 on this, because it's the only common sense answer. If they are OVERproduced then they'll shelfwarm. Huge batches in one go is the best way to make a profit.

Honestly, it feel like the MonsterArts series is turning into exactly what the X-Plus line is. Don't buy them right away? Need to wait a few months to afford them? Sorry, screw you, guess you missed out! Coupled with the high prices (they really needed to put Kiryu 2 and Mechaghidorah out within two months of each other?) and this line has stopped being that easy to obtain, affordable alternate to X-Plus that excited me in the first place.

The smaller runs that result in sellouts are also part of what drives the suggested retail prices higher. I realize a lot of the price tag is probably coming from the manufacturing the articulation, but for a 14cm Gamera figure to cost only 700 yen less than it's 25cm X-Plus counterpart is mind boggling and perhaps a sign that the engineers need to rein it in a bit. The Kiryu Redux is listed at nearly double the cost of the original G'94 that kicked off the series.
