Well, here it is, Kaiyodo's 1989 50cm release of King Goji, just finished...
From the right...
And to illustrate the size of the kit, here it is with a soda can...
I got this kit a couple of months ago off of E-Bay for a steal. It had no box, had been partially built and disassembled, but was complete. I had really liked the pose when I first saw this kit in an '89 issue of Hobby Japan and only had the opportunity to see the kit once in person, so when I saw this one on E-Bay, I put in a bid fully expecting to get sniped. Imagine my suprise to find out the next morning that I had won it!

After the kit arrived, and I started to build it, I quickly found out why the previous owner had stopped on the build. The tail didn't come close to fitting correctly...so after cutting about 2 to 2 1/2" off of the bottom of the tail where it met the body, I finally got the stance right. Actually, even though I love the pose, I found the sculpt to be a little lacking to my eye, so, and I'm sure there will be those who think it was a sin, I altered it to my taste. Mainly this amounted to adding scales on the body folds and knees, plus, even though the claws on the actual suit were pretty rough, I like my Godzilla's with sharp talons, so I also defined and smoothed these out. I also took a little artistic license with the color, going for more of a publicty photo look, but I think it looks okay. Anyhooo...I know this is probably the rarest kit I'll ever own, I hope I did it justice...
