I think its because other monsters have not have a release yet. Monsters who were actually in movies, like Hedorah, Showa MG, Titanosaurus, any Anguirus, or the new(ish) Millenium monsters, and a small but very vocal group of people are clamoring for obscure characters that have basically a cult. (The notions of jobbers like Gorosaurus, Varan, and Kumonga getting top billed releases though are pretty laughable though...)

I think that's his frustration. I don't see them making one, but knowing where this request originated I expect the entire thing to implode in hilariously disgraceful fashion whether or not they make a Bagan or Super Godzilla. This is the same community that scared the crap out of Criterion over their choice of cover art for their BD release.

Also, would any of those neckbeards be able to even afford a Bagan if he came out? Lets say he gets released, who would buy one? If it does get released and it sells poorly (because of said neckbeards who would complain about the price), this would be a big loss of face to Bluefin and would likely not listen to Western audiences again.

The characters are just super obscure even within the niche. If everyone that even knew who Bagan and Supergodzilla were bought the release, they would still sell poorly and that hurts a niche line and makes them less likely to take risks in the future. I hesitate to quote Shin due to all the name calling, but his example of the fandom killing future Criterion releases comes to mind.

I have been a lifelong Godzilla fan, and even though i had the NES game and had seen every movie i was almost 25 before i first heard of Bagan and hadn't even heard of Supergodzilla until this tomfoolery started. Needless to say i was perplexed.

If fans want to ask for beams, or vehicles or juvenile Zillas or any number of other things I wouldn't buy from this line, i would understand, but this just seems like setting Bluefin for failure, which will keep them from taking us seriously in the future

tanks, ships, planes, and beams make plenty of sense. I'd buy them up, and some people wouldn't. But it's a hell of a lot more common sense than... well this.

And I still want my Sun God...

The fact that Super Godzilla is number 2 on that poll, below everyone except the '54 Godzilla, is truly pathetic.

And with a thunderous roar, Godzilla 2000 is here and... well... I'm a little disappointed. I haven't fiddled around with him too much, but the reviewers hyped him up way too much as he does not deliver for me. He does not seem to be as posseable as Burning Godzilla, which to me, is a shame, as Burning G remains my favorite Godzilla MonsterArt. My biggest gripe is with the tail and head. Everyone kept talking about how great the tail is when it comes to posseability, saying you can wrap it around to the front of his body. Well, mine is not like that. If I try to do that, I get it popping out of its joints at various sections. Secondly, and this is the most annoying part is that he always looks like he is looking down no matter how high you raise his head. I like the tongue articulation. I like how they found away to get rid of the big gaps like Burning G had, but they also limited his body movement as I can barely turn the torso. Outside of those, the figure is great and I'm glad to have him in my collection, but I am happy I paid no more than $57 for him as he is definitely not worth $75.

EDIT: You know what, I've had to fill out a form for Amazon to ship me a replacement as the inner ring on the leg of mine is rattling around.

That Godzilla 2000 figure is SICK! I didn't even know he was officially released yet. I really really need to step it up with these SH Monster Art figures. So far I've only been able to pick up Destroyah, which was a Birthday present from by girlfriend. I really want to grab me a King Ghidorah, but one, they're damn expensive, and two, I hear he's extremely fragile, so I'm a little hesitant to spend $120+ on a figure that might fall apart the moment I take him out of the box.

The wings also tend to sag which Bandai says is supposed to happen.

Anyway, I took some more pics as I'm finally starting to warm up to G2000 (still getting a replacement though), and took these:

Though Battra isn't as large as originally stated (Tamashii.jp goofed and flipped his height and length... yowzers, how I drooled at the thought of a 250mm tall Battra), he's still taller than and about as long as Burning Godzilla. Combined with a second monster that's the articulation and size equivalent of your average MonsterArts tail, and the price fits the Bandai precedent. They would've been a better value if they were ten bucks less, but it's not a horrific price gouge and Amazon will likely have them around that price by release.

I'd say 100 is fair when the Battra larva is supposed to be massive. Supposedly there is a display stand too?

(.o. ) All it means is I'll be getting a Battra/Mothra Larva set before Dr. Kain.

Which is AOK in my book considering he's the one who started the Reploid Wars to begin with. He's gotta have some level on inconveniences in his life to make up for that.

lol

That was Dr Cain. Cain with a C. I'm Dr Kain with a K. As in The Legacy of Kain Blood Omen/Soul Reaver/Defiance games. :D

Anyway, I haven't even bought the Destoroyah Evolution set yet either as $80 is over priced. I'll wait until it is more like $50.

I'm more excited about these larva forms than the adult ones.
