Thanks. Although they said "that it comes down to licensing" and "hopefully someday" and "if we could do it, that'd be cool" .. so I am not seeing this as something that will happen in 2014.

With all these surveys and such, how much say does Bluefin have? I thought they were primarily the US distributor

I'd say they have enough of a say. I mean they are the main reason Zyuranger Figuarts were made in the first place, knowing they would be more popular here in the states because of the popularity of MMPR.

Maybe they won't have one in 2014, but I do think it's an eventuality. Seriously, can anyone say NECA's Gipsy will be better than what Bandai can come up with, considering robots are Bandai's bread and butter? I'd gladly pay the extra, since the price would be about what larger Super Robot Chogokins go for.

Pacific Rim was pretty much a bomb in Japan, but the audience that buys Monsterarts and Super Robot Chogokins did see it, and they liked it.

I don't like the Jaeger designs enough to buy toys of them from NECA, but I'd imagine the quality of a Bandai Gipsy would probably make the prospect more appealing.

i get all of these from my local comic shop.. that way, no shipping (plus its easier to sneak in past Mrs Klen7).. i get a 15% discount because i spend too much money there already.. and i support both Bluefin and a local nerd owned business.

I know what you mean. There's a small scale anime store 10 minutes away from my home. They are asking $80+tax for SHMA Godzilla Jr. while SHMA MOGUERA and MechaGodzilla 2 are priced at over $100+tax. Those figures have been sitting on their shelf for over a year to this day.

So i picked up my Biollante... Overall good, with a few small complaints.

- When I arrived at my local comic shop, my FLCS owner was there and was like "i'm glad you came in today..." .. so all three Biollante figures he had come in had been opened (tape had been cut and retaped over) before they arrived, so we opened it up in the shop to inspect it. It looks like someone had opened up all the figures to remove the batteries probably before shipping. So, a $200 toy, batteries not included.

- Overall its smaller than i expected. The height seems a bit short in comparison to the G'94 so we kind of need a G'89 in scale to display with it... Its about the same height as Destoroyah, so the scale is probably correct
+ the width definitely give it a sizable presence.

+ Good looking sculpt, especially around the mouth area
- The mouth doesn't open wide enough to fit a Godzilla head inside it.

- Some of the neck articulation could have been handled a bit better.. but maybe it's because i don't understand the stretched to the sky neck pose
+ Other than the neck the articulation is handled pretty well and

+ Normal sized box

I'd still say its probably $50-$75 overpriced, and i can't speak for the light up gimmick, because i still need to go buy watch batteries, but its pretty cool to get a figure that when SHMA launched i would have said that they would never even attempt. I'd give it a 'B' and thats mostly based off the neck articulation (which i know wont bother most fans of the line) and the price.

I am really getting sick of the schizophrenia with Amazon's pricing. This morning, they themselves had Jr for $47. I just realized I got paid today since Monday is considered a holiday and went to order him and now he is only available through sellers with the most rip off prices ever. -_-
