Went to my local TRU yesterday. Got myself a destruction pack and atomic roar figure. No Jakks 24" tall Godzillas in stock though. I asked the girl if they had any coming and she said they are usually surprised by what is on the truck. She also said that this is supposed to be a limited supply popular figure. No stores within 100 miles showed inventory of the big G.

My TRU had a pitiful set up. Only two gimmick figures. :?

Mine doesn't have the big one in stock and they said none of the others around had it either.

Called the TRU up in Lexington yesterday. They had some of the new Godzilla toys mentioned on here, but they didn't have the big one in stock. At least not yet. She said it could show up anytime, but they did have it listed in their database for $49.99.

Noticed online today that they've increased the price of the big one to $59.99, even though it's still showing out of stock.

I paid $49.99 for mine, wish I had known about the 20% coupon first, but oh well.

I just scored the Jakks Pacific big guy in Times Square TRU.

It's WAY bigger then I was anticipating. Almost startling so...

You can't beat it for 49.99. It's so massive and looks really really nice. Will post photo in a bit. I can already tell that years form now this will be a toy collectors clamor for.

Hit up both TRUs in my area. One has a spot and price sticker for the Jakks but none stocked the other doesn't. They both had a few Destruction City sets, tail strike, smash strike, and nuclear blast but no chibis (which I really want).

I ordered online and just picked mine up at the nearest store that had it. SO that might be the way to go.

Heres a size comparison with my old Shogun Godzilla.

AWESOME!

Honestly, Im shocked at how great it is, for the value.

Also on TRU lonie, theres a 20% off code so if the toy is available at a store near you I would pre-order and get the 20 %off.

I picked this guy up for 12 bucks with 20% off and a 40 dollar gift certificate. Money well spent!

I doubt I'll even bother with the Neca stuff after getting this guy.

Hey people.

My brother got the giant Godzilla for his classroom display!

We opened him up and dang were we impressed!

SO...

Something I noticed. This Godzilla toy is in the 1/144th scale. The same scale as the World Tank Museum vehicles and the HG Gundam kits.

Image

That there is a HGUC Dreissen in the colors from the Gundam ZZ TV series (as opposed to the Sleeves colors from Unicorn). That grunt unit is 22 meters tall. As we all know now, Godzilla is 107 meters tall in this movie.

Give an inch or two, Godzilla and that awesomely cool (but cannon fodder) mecha are in scale with one another.

Image

Image

Here are some more with the HG AGE Shaldoll Custom a Federation grunt mech (actually I have a bunch of this guy... just haven't built them all yet heheh). This one is about 18 meters tall. Godzilla is stepping on a HG AGE G-Exes Jackedge. Basically a souped up version of that grunt mech. Same size and scale. And there I have me some Dragon Model and World Tank Museum Type 90s, Abrams and Leopard 2s.

Saw the big 20inch dude in at the TRU in Tuscon yesterday but he does not look worth the cost to me. I'd rather save that $60 and put it towards the MA.

Just got the destruction city set. Really liking the details on these little guys (or rather, the details on Godzilla. Muto is surprisingly smooth).
I don't much care for the buildings, ships/jets, or blue Golden Gate Bridge. If anyone is looking for some extra jets or building bits, hit me up.

Also, have the smaller packs (one monster, a building, and a few jets) shown up in stores yet?

I've seen all the new toys, except for the 24"er, and I think the Atomic Roar figure is the most accurate, plus it has the most features. I also saw some of the figures at Meijer too.

Hopefully the Jakks toys stay around for the next two or three months. I'll be so sad if I can't get one. :(

I went back the Toys-R-Us where I bought the JAKKS figure and they haven't gotten anymore in. They had a few Destruction Zone sets but they were somewhat hidden on the bottom shelf behind the 12" Bandai Creation Godzilla. It even looks like they took the sticker off the shelf for the JAKKS figure.
