No, that figure really does light up.

The sculpt looks excellent! I know the original EX Red King vinyl was made from the UFE video game design and not the Ultra Galaxy suit, but its size was always a shame - it's short enough to look more like a big Spark Doll, which never boded well for the Spark Doll EX Red King. Didn't have high hopes for this one either but it looks like I was totally wrong about it! I probably need to track one down.

Two packages in one day.
The 2005 release of Natsunomeryu (often incorrectly referred to as "Natsume Dragon") - $44
My replacement Gipsy 2.0 (last one had a faulty torso joint that snapped quite easily) - $25
Image

The repaint of this guy goes for upwards of $70+, so you can imagine how ecstatic I am to have gotten the original release for just $44.
Image

I softened up the joints on my replacement gipsy with a blowdryer this time 'round, and have had no issues so far, bar some slightly warped feet.

Officially caught up on the Spark Doll kaiju/seijin, except for Birdon and King Joe Custom (waiting till more sellers have them at reasonable prices of less than $10). Now... to begin with the Ultras.

Got one of the two Ultra 500 figures I'm expecting: Zoa Muruchi.

It's really nice. Only real complaint is that the inner rings for the arms clash with the head's ring (glue sealed), so it's not very smooth to rotate. The waist can rotate, but doesnt feel like it should. I may just glue it in to give the figure a more solid feel like black king (who has a glued waist joint).

I've heard that Tamashii Nations is continuing with the Aliens and Predators, just reworking the line. And it's S.H. Monsters Arts, I doubt any of the humans were ever planned. Just because you had some problems with the figure, doesn't mean I will. Nor does it mean I'll be unhappy with the figure. I wasn't about to pay full price for him, so the price I did pay leaves me satisfied with the purchase.

Here's something you dont see everyday! The Ultraman Festival exclusive Chandora/Chandler!

To remove the tag or not to remove the tag? That is the question.

Personally I always remove the tags as they get in the way of me being able to enjoy the toy. But if it's a particularly rare figure that has significant value then I probably wouldn't. I've always just cut the tags and stuck them in a baseball card binder but I've heard of people warming the area with a hair dryer and them being able to pull out the tag with hanger undamaged. And then you can use the same technique to put it back in supposedly.

Yes, I have and always will advocate removing the tag using heat. It makes it easy to restore the figure to "mint with attached tag" status whenever you want but allows you to display your figure in a non-eyesore way (or, gasp, play with it).

It's been a good week for collecting. A big thank you to Godzilla 2000 for helping me with locating a decently priced Natsunomeryu.

Snagged Revoltech Anguirus and Gyaos.

Both are awesome - Ang is an amazing figure and scales well with the 64 SHMA.

I really wish revoltech would have been able to do more Godzilla stuff.

Originally I was going to pass on the Revoltech Rodan, but the quality of Gyaos and Ang might make me reconsider.

i liked the Revoltech line a lot... it's a shame the sales for it were poor. It seems like it might be more popular now due to SHMA than it was on it's own.
