Renewal looks just so much better. Cool buy there. I recently received Space Sheriff Shaider in the mail. Like just today. I'll post a pic of that soon enough.

At last, after years of missed opportunities, I got myself a Zarab (thanks to one of my friends for showing me)! It's the Mebius version, so now I finally have all the villains from the Ultra Bros movie (nackle, temperor, guts, zarab, yapool, kelbeam, and u-killersaurus). There are actually a few other auctions up for Mebius Zarabs, including a relisting from this seller, japansmile. Great people to work with.

Cool!

Remember when this thread (and the first one) was full of posts like this, and not just Dr. Kain's latest super articulated Kamen Rider/Power Ranger figure?

I honestly can't remember if I ever picked up the Mebius movie Zarab or not! I know I always wanted the four movie incarnations of the aliens, and I think I have at least one, but I haven't looked at some of those vinyls in a while. Will keep that in mind, thanks dude.

So a few years ago I was in New York and made my first trip to Toy Tokyo. It was heaven! But it was also really hard to pick a figure when I really only had a budget for one and they had such a fantastic inventory. I eventually chose the gold Gigabrain G'62 and I'm glad I did b/c I've never seen another one available anywhere. But at the time I was really torn between it and another figure.

Well, I'm in New York again today and had a chance to stop by Toy Tokyo for a second time and I am torn no more!! I don't know if it's the exact same figure from a few years ago or they got another one in (though I have a pretty strong suspicion it is the same figure that has hung on a peg for 2 or 3 years!) but my little Gigabrain army is one member stronger! I got the G'65 in translucent green. Can't wait to get him home with his bretheren!

Very nice. Looks good. Are you gonna display it close to a light source to show off that translucency?

Yeah, it'll go in the same lighted cabinet as my other Gigabrains and Marmits. Which has me thinking...I'm gonna have to rearrange b/c that cabinet is pretty full... Oh well, it's a nice problem to have!

So my latest Yahoo auctions haul just arrived...

I got some books (i love the behind the scenes and suit making aspect of these as well as the concept art) and was surprised to see that the Heisei ones include the comic adaptations of the film.. and one of them is about the Heisei toy releases... so that was unexpected and cool
Image

Then we got an M1 Gigan that is a repro of the Bullmark
Image

Next up is the last of the M1 G2k figures i was looking for.. so i have 3 variants of this sculpt
Image

Lastly is a little oddity... its a gold Marmit VP little Pulgasari (which apparently was a theater exclusive)

So my 2006 Zarab arrived and it's...quite unusual. It's probably a bootleg, but I'll let you guys see for yourselves.

The figure looks legit at first glance. It looks just like it should.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b387/ ... G_5598.jpg
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b387/ ... G_5599.jpg

Then you see the tag. Nevermind that it's the wrong one, because I'm pretty sure this figure never saw a re-release anyway, so...
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b387/ ... G_5600.jpg
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b387/ ... G_5601.jpg

Next we have this printed in the back of the figure's head. "2006 ULTRAMAN MEBIUS AND ULTRAMAN BROTHERS PRODUCTION CONSORTIUM." That's not supposed to be there, is it?
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b387/ ... G_5602.jpg
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b387/ ... G_5607.jpg

The company and character info is printed into the feet like any normal figure. It even has the little blue sticker inside.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b387/ ... G_5610.jpg
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b387/ ... G_5611.jpg
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b387/ ... G_5614.jpg

So yeah, I'm not really sure what to make of this. I mean, I guess in the end, I got what I wanted; a 2006 Zarab. But still, this is pretty fishy.

That's not even what the 2007 Mephilas tag (the only tag it could be) actually looks like:

http://youtu.be/sHkOLUsrIu4?t=11m44s

The only way I could reconcile the idea that this is a legit figure is if these changes were reflective of a Bandai Asia version of the vinyls (obviously not explaining the mistag). You are correct in that this Zarab mold was otherwise never reused even though the suit was reused for all later on-screen Zarab appearances and I definitely had no such bright white stamp on my movie Temperar's figure (still can't recall if I already own Guts and Nackle or not). It's a shame that there will be a bunch of bootlegs floating around now but not surprising given the stupid prices the first Mebius film aliens command, besides Nackle. The switch to the new, smaller scale probably means some Chinese factory is taking advantage of the demand for the figures and the molds, which is why the figure otherwise resembles the real deal enough, down to that blue internal sticker, not unlike the hoopla around all those loose Memorial Box figures that were cropping up with oversprayed fins.

Hello everyone! I am new here and I'm looking forward to meeting all of you.

Just a short intro, I've been a fan of Godzilla since I was little, mostly due to my interest in dinosaurs. I have been collecting Kaiju figures for over five years now.

Here, is one of my latest acquisitions, Bandai Museum's Kameba figure. This figure is easily one of my favorite Kaiju toys outside of Godzilla-related products. One day I hope to complete the Space Amoeba set.

Hi klen7, I do feel sorry for meeting you this way. Yes, Kameba was purchased through ebay. You’re one tough competitor and I hope you find one too someday.
