I'd say the 30cm is still superior (like the Anguirus) but it's good enough. Especially when displayed next to that Godzilla 68 and Minya.

I usually wait until painted pics are up before i decide to put in an order or not... of course that burned me on Varan since HS closed preorders before the painted images went up for him... speaking of which my first purchase from HLJ arrived...
I love the translucent spikes, and the suit detail is good. The tail is bit iffy, not sure why it is two parts instead of one, but overall a decent release for an under-represented character.. I would give it 'B', but mostly due to the tail

You're right. they nailed the connection to the body better than ever, which just makes that other seam more painful to me.
It's still the best Varan i own by a long shot, but looking at all the X-Plus tails for Godzilla, Anguirus, Gigan and Gorosaurus I wonder why they did the tail in two parts. Really that's my only complaint about the figure, which when i look at my collection, most of the tails are hidden so i guess it could be worse.
