so far these aren't announced with release months...

which those can more than likely all go the way of exclusives. What else does Tamashii have planned? The next event will more than likely be around the late Fall. Got to fill in the gaps between then with something. It is now Sunday morning around the 1 AM hour in Japan. The last day of the event will start in about 8 to 9 hours from now.

Though shown yesterday, this got my attention as it would make a nice Kamacuras stand-in if it was articulated. It is just a statue, but looks nice. This is from Tamashii's SH Figuarts Zero line. (not a part of MonsterArts)

I feel like they're going to be pretty pricey on ebay though once they come out too.

Why Tamashii chose to include some Evangelion in the line over adding another Godzilla character really is baffling. I don't think there are that many Evangelion fans in the USA and Canada that would want to pick these up (is there?). Seems like to me that the Evangelion would be mostly sold in Japan, whereas Godzilla figures would be sold in various countries. Speaking of their interest to release two from that particular property, why only have Servo/Gridman launching in the Ultra-Act line without a sign of an opponent monster?

Just a thought I had, with not much shown regarding Toho kaiju at the recent event, I guess they at Tamashii want to help ensure Ghidorah sells well for the late Summer. Seeing as it would not have any other major kaiju right behind it or right in front of it, then collectors and kaiju fans would maybe be more inclined to focus their attention on getting Ghidorah. Sometimes if you have another lesser price product that could draw some sales away from a bigger ticket item, you may just hold off those to generate more attention to the item you desire to generate sales. We all know that a certain number of units needs to sell per character figure so that it can get to a break even point, or even make a profit, so I guess this could be a reason we didn't see something else that would be really attention getting at the event. Ghidorah seemed to be the buzz of the event as far as monsters go. I think it even eclipsed the Ultra-Act line for attention from some things I read on Twitter pages and blogs. Ghidorah is possibly the most expensive, large, high level articulated figure produced in quite some time. I can imagine they want that to sell really well.

If Ghidorah did reasonably well, then Tamashii would possibly become more confident in releasing Biollante, which would be another very large sized figure.

I don't know when Toyfreakz ships out the Garuda exclusives. Though I can only imagine it must be very soon.


For those interested in this news, the Fire Rodan has gone up for pre-order at some of the overseas stores tonight. Going for around $35.00. This is absent of shipping. I don't know how much Toyfreakz.com will have it for, but I guess we will see before long, and if they keep free shipping going.
