My growing glowie insanity continued today when I got home from work with glow versions of the Para Baby 1954 Godzilla and the Monster Heaven Gigan.

Yuji Sakai Godzilla Complete Works Final
Review

Ok, I opened the last of them, so now I can write a review on the whole set.

"Godzilla, Ebirah, Mothra" diorama - not one I was looking forward to, but I actually like it. It goes great with the HG Ebirah. I painted the HG Ebirah's water base to match, the bluish color.

"Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla" (1994) diorama - I was looking forward to this one, but I'm kind of dissapointed. Something just isn't right about the face, but I can't put my finger on it. The Godzilla does not stand up on its own without the base. Pretty neat base, though.

"Godzilla vs Megalon" diorama - I thought this was going to be my least favorite, but I was pleasantly surprised. While the base if very simple, I actually enjoy the sculpt of the figure, even though I dislike most of the Showa Godzilla designs. It's kind of charming and muppet-esque.

"Godzilla, Minira, Gabara" diorama - The trees alone make this diorama great. My only complaint is the teeth. Godzilla's teeth aren't visible in the scene in the movie, so the mouth is somewhat open, but the figure is sculpted with a closed mouth and teeth bared.

"Godzilla X Mechagodzilla" - I forgot which scene in the movie this was and had to go back and check. After watching the scene, the diorama is really nice. However, the Godzilla I have does not want to stay in the pegs that keeps him on the diorama. But I love the sculpt of the Godzilla. Definitely one of the ones I bought the set for. However, the little arm of the Mazer canon fell off. It didn't snap off or break off, it just fell off. So I had to glue it back on. It's fine now.

"Gojira" diorama - I love this one. It's just huge. Love the sculpt, the colors, everything about this diorama. I love how the different floors of the building are even sculpted. I love the attention to detail. And I like how it's hollow, so I can store things inside. Not that that's a huge part of why I like it, but it's pretty neat. If you're only going to get one figure from the entire set, get this one.

"Godzilla vs King Ghidorah" - This was the one I was looking forward to the most. I was saving it for last. So I open it up, and the vinyl that the Sapporo Television Tower is made out of is curved. Which was to be expected with skinny things in packaging. But it was warped where it attatched to the base of the tower, which didn't help it at all. So it doesn't go straight up, it totally curves. Which really really sucks. I had to break the glue where it attatched to the base of the tower so I could reset it in a different position so the warping couldn't be seen from the front. That really ruined it for me. HOWEVER. I love the detail of the tower. Love it. With the inclusion of the tower inside of it. Oh man. And the Godzilla sculpt is no doubt my favorite out of the entire Complete Works series. I'll probably buy another one of just this diorama.

What I like about this set is that the tail/spine piece is pre-glued into the rest of the body, which is a lifesaver. So it doesn't fall out, and it fits almost seamlessly. I love that.

On that note, I have an extra "Godzilla vs Ebirah" diorama for sale/trade. I only opened the box to see what's inside; it's still mint in the plastic. I also have an extra "Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla" 1994 one, but I might do some customizing on that one.

well me being the bandai collector here..i am actually attracted to this Marmit Meltdown Godzilla. it has a lot of character to it. I like it.

but it think the shoulders are not broad enough. the tail and the legs seem...short. but overall i love the figure. i may get one. the dorsal plates are near perfect with exception of the slightly distant gap from the highest spine on the neck.

i love the posture..reminds me of the scene when Godzilla is blasting Destoroyah badly..when his heat ray is really destructive. Godzilla kinda hunched back and let loose. anyway..it is a great figure..i may get this. more like a definite.

I give it 2 thumbs up.

Agreed w/ Gojira138. I am more of a Bandai collector but working my way to other figs now. The photos by philly look great of Gorosaurus & the 2 Desu-Gojis look awesome! How much do these guys go for about?

I'm not too concerned about getting the Gorosaurus (since I managaed to order one) but I don't remember ever ordering an orange/blue '95 Godzilla. Hopefully I'll be able to locate one.

Let's see now. Been a while, heh.

Ok. Still a few boxes on the way, but I did receive an absolute beauty the other day.
KaijuZoo sent me a custom Bandai Creation SpaceGodzilla painted in the Trendmasters style! I decided I wanted a TM SpaceG at the apartment, and since I didn't want to take one from home and they don't tend to run "cheap" on ebay, I took the BC I had lying around and jetted off an email to John! That is probably a horrible run-on sentence, but I'm not taking English until the Fall, lol!
So yeah, this thing looks great! He fixed the spines and even added a missing tusk!

Other than that, things aren't as neat. Picked up 2 54 Microman figures along with a second Final Wars one. They were just so cheap that I went for em. I tried putting a 54 together, thinking I was just impatient with my last FW version... Nope. These things suck all-around. At least they'll look good on the wall somewhere...

Also bought a TM Benable MechG. I'm kinda slowly finishing out the TM stuff, I think. I should have a Mogera on the way, but I dunno where the hell that is.

And finally, a little Banpresto SD Godzilla plush! Unfortunately, I lost the auction on the Brown version and ended up eating the shipping. I wasn't really hoping to get just one, but whatever. I sorta like the plushes these days.

I think that's about it. Hopefully some more really cool stuff will come in next week. At least I had something extra to make May a really good month, thanks KaijuZoo!

SOME of the cool stuff arrived today... some-HE HE!

-CCP GMK Godzilla
I love this guy! This thing really makes me want to see more Bandai Museum figures, but whatever. I was thinking the assembly on the lower jaw was really going to annoy me, but where his now (overhead), you really can't see the imperfections. It's just a lighting and angle issue. I think he looks great!

-Bandai 8" Super Gyaos (1995)
I have wanted this figure for about 11 years now. I still remember a kid in my best friend's neighborhood had it and was calling it Space Godzilla (my friend and I knew it wasn't of course) but that still didn't keep me from wondering just what the heck it was. Anyway, I've lost countless auctions for this thing, so picking it up for $8 in great shape (no tag, though) was a real treat... 11 years... HA!

-Bandai 8" SpaceGodzilla
He's beaten to hell, but warranted by a $6 price tag. At least it's a double.

-1992 Bandai Showa Mothra Adult
The box is on the low end of fair, but the figure looks great! That makes 2 adult Mothra figures that I actually like!

-Battle Under the Sea Figure Set (aka Dagarla + Stupid $hit)
$25, man! $25! At last, a real Dagarla figure! And the only good one at that. So this was a pretty neat one after 4 or so failures.
OK, maybe Mothra doesn't fall under :stupid $hit," it is a decent figure, but the real prize here was Dagarla!

-3 Foot-Long GINO puppet
It's big, beautiful, and going to make me redesign the layout of a lot of stuff. He's so cool!

Last one isn't really a G-related figure, but I picked up a little stuffed Taco Bell Chihuahua that says "Here lizard, lizard, lizard." ... loved that commercial...

Yutaka Mothra and Mothra Larvae, and a dogtag from the Gamera DVD box set. It says "GAMERA 1995 - 1999" below a yin yang. The back says "Ultimate 'G'" and then talks about the box set being awesome.
And then there's that other dancing plug-in thing.

Wait, wait, wait! What the hell is the "dancing plug-in thing?" lol!

I'm glad you posted cause a third post from me all lined up would be sorta crappy!
I didn't mention this before because, honestly, I forgot about it!
-A little Gamera poster (not little, but not quite as big as a one sheet) advertising one of the candy sets that came out. I need to look at it again when I go home to see what it is - it was a DOLLAR I just pulled it outta the rack and paid the old hag!
-Also, 2 of those Tokyo SOS puzzles (one for the nephew, too). They were only $3 each, so that was a no-brainer there!

On to what came today, then: more Trendmasters!

-Two hatching figures - Mothra and Godzilla (twisted neck version)
This is like, the third of these Godzilla's I've gotten. I was so excited when I found the first one since it was "so rare," but now, I get one every time I buy a lot! I want the normal one now, man! The normal one!

-Two JC Penny Godzilla Attacks New York sets.
At least I managed to pick these up at last. Lost the previous few on eBay.

-Godzilla Wars 40th Anniversary box
Still can't find the alternate paint scheme for either Wars or KotM, but at least I've eliminated their competition!

-(This one is a real treat for me) MechaGodzilla, SpaceGodzilla, and Anguirus Godzilla Wars Micro Mountain figures!
HOLY CRAP! They're so pretty! So now I just have to find Mogera and the Godzillas? That'll be easy!
