It took for fricking ever, but my stuff FINALLY arrived from Japan.
The side attractions of this order started with an issue of Terebi Kun, that included a capsule figure of Bemstar molded in clear green, as seen in a recent episode of Ultraman Mebius. Nothing to sneeze at, but it is compatible with the electronic DX roleplay stuff, so you can have a virtual Bemstar, or something. I don't own the device, so for now he's just a display piece, but he's got exclusivity going for him.
No pic handy right now, but you can see similar (but painted) figures .
Next up is . Bogal was a major villain early on in the series, part of the Tsurugi story arc, and pretty badass. Using the flaps on its back the way some carnivorous plants do, Bogal actually wraps up and devours other monsters! The figure doesn't, of course, otherwise I'd fear for my kaiju! Bogal's limited in poseability but incredibly detailed!
And finally, my second Monster Heaven figure, the unpainted green MH Gigan. There's nothing new to comment about the sculpt here, as I summed it up very well already. What I really love about it is the pearly finish to the figure and the tighter feel of the joints, almost as if it's made from something even sturdier than vinyl. I would have gladly settled to display it as-is until I noticed...
...the heavy warping on half of the sails. One side of them are bent inward very badly, and there's an enormous gap at the joint between the sails and Gigan's back. Very disappointing, but I should have expected this (it was pictured in the auction as well), and it wasn't my contact's fault. Explains why it was so cheap, heh. If I can't fix it with a blow-drier later, I'm definitely prepping him for a professional KaijuZoo treatment (when I can throw some money his way for the project, naturally).
