Godzilla 1968:
You know, the more I look at this figure the more it looks like the 1973 Godzilla with it's squatting posture. And I know they had to curl up the tail to make it fit in the box but it just looks awful. The Japanese figure isn't perfect by a long shot, but it's much, much better than this.
Godzilla 2000:
It's hard to compare this one with the Japanese version, because the BC toy seems like a strange amalgam of the actual Godzilla suit and the maquette. That makes the toy neat in it's own way and I like the dark purple paint on the fins. But it's still got that curling tail problem and I think the body texture needs to be a little deeper. And I couldn't find a figure that didn't have wobbly loose arms. I can't really say this is a bad figure, but - no surprise - I prefer the Japanese figure.
Hedora:
No. No no no. I paid $10 for this glorified doggy toy? There is no comparison. While the paint on this figure is fine, the Japanese version kicks it's ass in every conceivable way. Nothing movies, the seams around the neck and arms are way too distracting, there's no back hump whatsoever...it's like someone starting translating the Japanese Hedora figure into a new sculpt, did a half-assed 50% job and then just gave up. The original 1993 Bandai Hedora is better than this. Hell, the Marmit Para Baby Hedora is better than this.
Destroyah:
Ok, I give. This figure is really, really cool. Bigger than the Japanese version, with a nice hint of movement in the head and much, much better sculpted and painted wings than the original. And the little wings below the larger ones are a nice touch that the original Japanese version didn't have at all. The limp arms are a little lame, but the Japanese figure didn't have very interesting arms either. In this case, the BC toy trumps the Japanese one.
