Which figure should I buy: Xplus, Marmit, or Bandai?

Postby ebirahsmeg1 » Fri Apr 20, 2012 10:06 am

Ok guys,

I have come across several interesting figures...some of them are newer figures, while others are quite old, but ones I've pondered picking up for a long time or have been looking.

Anyways, I'm rather torn, so I figured I'd ask fellow veteran collectors on here for their opinion....which one of these should I buy this weekend? :?:

- X-plus Mosu-Goji (25 inch scale...it looks good, but comes with a rather pointless brown "stand" for it to be placed on...if I get this, the "stand" is getting tossed. Otherwise, it looks like a decent figure, although the position of the feet gives me some concern...can it actually stand on its own without the lame brown stand?). - 9500 yen

- Marmit MH GFW Angilas - 8800 yen

- Marmit MH Gira-Goji (the recent metallic variant) - 9800 yen

- Bandai Mothra 1998 (Leo and Armor) - 4000 yen

Which one should I get? :?: :!: :cylon:

I'd go with the Marmits. The FW Anguirus is my favorite Anguirus design so that might get the win for me...but I think the GxM figure is a better figure I think.

Edit* I'll vote GxM but I sort of want to go with the Anguirus :?

25cm X-Plus is just kinda... irritating. The 30cm is much more impressive and interesting. The 25 is there to match the upcoming Mothra. And if you do want the 25cm to be interesting, you'd want the web exclusive with the Mothra turds-I mean larvae.

And I just hate Mothra for the most part, that's kinda what has me up in arms about the Armored one from Bandai. It's a figure I have little appreciation for. I didn't pay a lot, but it still bothers me. Maybe I'll take it out again and have another look.

I just think that one of those Marmits would be much more enjoyable, and I'm partial to that Anguirus, is all.
I like G, but he just looks... lumpy.

Id get the xplus only if you plan to get the mothra adult as well. Even then it's mothra 61 but they obviously intend them to compliment each other per their website.

I share heseis opinion on the mothra but only due to my indifference to mothra trilogy figures (super dragon and death kg aside).

The angilas is nice, but the suit design wasnt anything special to me and in your collection, which tends to get a representation of the character without regard to specific maker, you may already have an anguirus FW covered by the bandai. Now if this were FW manda or hedorah...those figures are more appealing imo.

So that leaves Godzilla. Id probably get him, though when it comes to marmit mh figures of godzilla himself, i get uncomfortable paying more than 7500 yen, even if this is an exclusive

I passed on that Godzilla because of the pose, honestly.
