Does anyone know if Tsuburaya has the rights to Hanuman vs. Ultraman? Does Chaiyo retain that one? Or is it some legal cesspool they'd rather avoid?

For the sake of small children as well as my fellow multitaskers, I truly hope the original dub for the 1966 series is included. However, my PRIMARY desire is that when they eventually reach Ultraman Nexus, they are able to acquire to release the director's cut of episode 29 and the bonus episode that was originally cut from the initial broadcast run. They are phenomenal additions to the franchise and it would be heartbreaking to see them left out.

What Ultra series had dubs for them? I know the original and Ultraseven had some dubs as well as some episodes of Tiga. Did anything else? It'd be nice if Mill Creek could do there own dubs for stuff that didn't have it but I'd be content with subtitled content.

^ Ultra Q and Ultraman were dubbed, but while Ultraman was widely syndicated in this Americanized form for decades the Ultra Q dub never received release. Ultra Seven was dubbed first in Hawaii, and then in the mid-80s for Turner with a more truncated, comedic tone. Tiga received a comedic dub from 4Kids in the early '00s. Ultraman Max was apparently dubbed in its entirety, and that's still a bit mysterious. The Dyna and Gaia movies were dubbed when Image released those on DVD in tbe early '00s. William Winckler has overseen dubs of several of the more recent movies, encompassing as far as I know the Ultraman Zero trilogy, the Ultraman Ginga feature and theatrical special, and the Ultraman X movie.

Malaysian English dubs exist for many of the series, and the heavy accents make it difficult to parse for someone not intensely familiar with that accent. Episodes of Ultraman Ace and, I think, Taro I remember were heavily circulated in this Malay English form among bootleggers focusing on tokusatsu stuff back in the VHS days. I know the Malaysian dubs must have extended closer to the present because I watched the Malay dub of Ultraman The Next on YouTube years ago!

Still torn on regular or Steelbook versions, but I really love the spines with the volume numbers on the steelbook ones, so I may go that route despite having no freaking idea how they can fit 6 discs into a steelbook case that size.

God, I am just so incredibly stoked at the idea of being able to own and watch all of my favorite series (Q, Ace, Nexus, Max, Mebius, X...) on my favorite media format with subtitles! Discs I can display on my shelves! The impossible dream is finally coming true, guys.

This is another area of legit concern... how these multi-disc boxsets will arrange/store the discs. I'd prefer 2 discs, staggered, on their own hub, per flipper insert. I cannot stand the single long spool hub with all discs stacked on it or the nice outer case with the discs jammed in a pile of paper/fiber sleeves. These always worry me with regards to discs being overly compressed into the packaging to the point where they're touching; which could lead to unintentional scratches, etc. during withdrawal & return to the parent snapcase. I have a couple of complete TV series that came packed in those huge snapcases; one used the paper sleeves and the other had the single spool with all discs stacked atop one another. Ugh! In addition to the potential scratching issues it's just a royal pain to get them out & put them back. :-/

I'm most excited for Jack, Ace, Nexus and The Next... and Jonias - if they decide to include him too.

i pre-ordered the steelbooks because i think a set will look awesome on the shelf (especially those numbered spines) -- but im worried sales numbers wont justify carrying the steelbooks all the way through
