Best Dub. Gamera Invinc. and attack of the monsters ???

I bought the Alpha DVD's of Gamera Invincible and Attack of the Monsters for the dubs. Are there any better quality US DVD releases of the english versions or are Diamond, Alpha etc. all pretty much the same quality picture wise?

That's the best you'll find of Gammera the Invincible on DVD. Back in the late '90s/early 2000s, Neptune Media released the original Gamera in widescreen on VHS, both the version and the version. The print for the US version came from the UCLA archives.
They did the same with Gamera vs. Guiron: Japanese version on one tape, US version on another, both in widescreen. You could track down that tape if you really want but Shout! Factory's does include both Guiron dubs (and the only dub for Jiger).

I meant "War of the Monsters" actually. Thats Barugon. That and Invincible were not dubbed on the Shout releases that I have, of course. hats why am looking for them. looks like I am going to stick with my Alpha releases. I does not look like there are any better versions in english available on DVD

Yes there are numerous releases for Gammera the Invincible, and War of the Monsters (the dubs I prefer as well), on DVD unfortunately the quality is the same on all of them. I feel fortunate to have the afore mentioned Neptune VHS of both Gammera the Invincible & Guiron (which they call Guillon) , which I converted to digital format in case the VHS ever fails.
I also have Zigra from Neptune Media, but it is in original Japanese w/subs...does anyone know if they ever did Zigra with an English dub? I imagine if they did, it would still be the awful Sandy Frank one since that's the only one ever made that I am aware of.

Interesting that this thread was bumped today, as Gammera the Invincible just showed up in true HD on Amazon Prime, courtesy of Legend Films. Might a Rifftrax be in the pipeline?

^Mike bought out Rifftrax from Legend and it's its own company now.
Still, cool to see Gammera in widescreen HD. Wonder if its, well, a legal copy or they're just assuming PD.
