Also some of those pairings are oddly annoying.

What an odd choice to pair with Destoroyah, but hey, at least it ensures Megaguirus sells! That last disc makes even less sense. Weird pairings aside, would be alright with this being true.

I will probably wind up picking these up but my gut is telling me the Heisei movies are justing going to feature the crappy dubs and no Japanese language and any of the millenium films will probably have the dubtitles which would be disappointing. Yes I am complaining but Sony has done a crappy job on their previous releases. IF this is true I am keeping my expectations super low so I am not disappointed. Also putting GxM on the Destroyah blu ray will really annoy me for organizing my collection.

Pairings are screwed up... But have no doubt G98 will be paired with one of the missing 3... Making room for the last two to pair up.

The only odd pairing is GvD and GxM

The others seem to be just chronological pairings, and would honestly work nicely on a shelf (aside from GvD/GxM) assuming they pair GMK and GxMG

The crappy part is, if that GvD and GxM pairing is true, I'm gonna be getting ANOTHER copy of GxM...which I previously swore I'd never buy again, but I need GvD for completeness sake...

I would pay an extra $5 for GINO to not be included on the same disks as the real Godzilla. YOU HERE THAT SONY?!?!?! GET YOUR STINKING LIZARD OFF MY BLU RAYS! That's if that winds up turning out to be what happens though. <== Also this smiling looks more like nervous laughter than laughing out loud.

Sony, I'll pay you $5 to put G98 and GxM on the same disc and I won't even buy a copy!

I already have Zilla '98 on blu, I'd rather not have to buy it again.

But honestly, as long as they aren't full screen, I'll buy them.

I hope the rumors are true that they're going to be releasing these on Blu-ray, but I also hope that the rumor about the pairs is false I'd be sort of surprised if they didn't bundle GODZILLA X MECHAGODZILLA and GODZILLA: TOKYO SOS together since those movies go hand-in-hand. I also think that the average consumer, who knows very little about Godzilla, might appreciate the subtle surprise of buying two random movies that have direct continuity. I'm really hoping that the Heisei releases are widescreen, dual-language, and have the credits this time around (I LOVE the end credit sequence for DESTROYAH.) I'd also like it if those horrible English title cards are removed from the Millennium films, but I'd honestly still buy the Blu's if they still had those title cards, I'd just grumble about them every time I watch them.

I'm still crossing my fingers, toes, and eyes for the Japanese version of GODZILLA 2000 to be bundled with the American version. I recall the marketing for the DVD release advertising both versions, but IIRC Toho couldn't get the Japanese print to Sony in time. I hope that wont happen again!

While more Godzilla Blu-ray news is a good thing, I tried looking for listings for these supposed releases and I can't find any at all, hence why it's called a rumor. Plus August is known for misinformation.

Tyler, unless you have specific examples, it's probably in your best interest to retract what you just said.

Moving along, I'm very perturbed that there's no mention of my three favorite Millennium movies. I'd also like to know if the Heisei films will be available with Japanese tracks. God forbid Sony negotiate for some special features.

Extremely exciting news. I hope it's true... although I want GMK on bluray and no mention of that was in the article. I'm guessing we'll probably get international versions uncut with the Japanese tracks. It would be nice if sony would actually QC the subs this time and get rid of those horrid dubtitles. I don't care about Megaguiras but the dubtitle track for GMK is what I'm most concerned about. Also, if I remember correctly, didn't sony put trailers for some of the heisei films on their double disc features? I wouldn't see any reason why they wouldn't include them again.

I thought some more about this, and honestly - 'I'll just be happy to have Ghidorah/Mothra/Space Godzilla/Destroyah NOT full screen.
That alone is worth a purchase to me.

Why would they pair up Tokyo SOS WITHOUT Against MechaG? That is retarded.

If anything, they should do the movies in order, so Destoroyah should be paired with 2000 and Megaguirus with GMK.

Now if these are actually seperate discs, I might be okay with that since I plan to use the Toho BD packaging anyway but will get some double disc cases so I can put the Jp disc together with the English disc like I did with Biollante.

A perfect pairing was never in the cards since the number of films is uneven. I'm also suspecting Godzilla 2000 will be paired with its alternate language cut, and that GMK and GxMG will show up together down the line.
