First thing is first: who is Kraken Releasing? A sub label of Section 23 or something? Have they released anything else prior to this announcement? Also, while this is good news for people who missed out on the Sony DVD's, there's really no reason for me to double dip unless:

A) They included unaltered international versions, not altered ones from Sony

B) Include the AIP cut for Hedorah and the Titra dub of Sea Monster

C) Have extras.

If they don't have any of those, I'm not interested.

Bluray upgrade could be worthwhile..looking forward to more details.

Kraken Publishing? They're part of the same media group Sentai Filmworks (anime distribution) is part of.

Ebirah and Gigan on blu-ray are more or less must-buys for me.

Hedorah...I dunno...I don't like the movie, so maybe I'll see if I can sell my Hedorah DVD to pay for it. Only then.

Looking forward to more details, but I'm quite excited about the prospect of these movies coming to bluray... now if only Sony would start flexing some effort...

Definitely good news, I admit to being a little sad they don't have the other couple Showa releases that Sony had had, but hey, I'm happy to have blurays of these three! I'll definitely pick them up, but it'd be nice to have the other dubs, etc.

Sweet. Glad we're finally getting some news of more Godzilla blurays. I'm pretty much guaranteed to buy any Godzilla blus. I do hope they're using HD materials from Sony (if there are any... There are - right?) and not Toho's less than stellar HD masters. But even Toho's own materials are good enough that I'll buy them.

I will buy any and every Godzilla move that comes out of Blu-Ray stateside. Hope this is just the first wave!

I didn't own any of the Sony DVDS besides Hedorah so these are a guaranteed purchase from me.

Hopefully they will pick up the others over time.

For sure gonna upgrade with buying all three. Hoping Media Blasters releases Megalon around the same time.... All four of these would be great first G movies for my 4 year old son.

Cool news, though before I make any decisions on whether or not to get them I'll need to see some reviews and, most importantly, know if they'll be region locked. I can't play region A BDs currently so they wouldn't be of much use to me. I'll need to invest in a region free player sooner or later though, so much good stuff from Criterion and Shout/Scream Factory out there.

I wonder who, if anyone, will end up releasing Son of Godzilla and Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla...

Interesting... For some reason, despite all the fans hope I didn't think we would get any media releases in conjunction with the 2014 film. I'm glad to be in error. Unfortunately by the sound of it, this being a fairly small sub-label of a small company to begin with, I'm guessing these releasdes wont be much different than Sony's previously released DVD's (though I would be happy again to be wrong). BRD alone is not a guaranteed purchase for me, since they would be sourced no doubt from Toho prints that have been a point of contention among some fans. For me to consider purchasing these, they would have to incude the following:

Ebirah: Horror of the Deep

1. Original "Ebirah" Toho International Title Sequence
2. Walter Reade English Dub and Open/End Title Cards

Godzilla vs. Hedorah

1. Godzilla vs The Smog Monster AIP print with Titra Dub & opening/ending cards

Godzilla vs. Gigan

1. Cinema Shares Print with "Godzilla on Monster Island" alternate opening/ending sequence

In my case, HD alone is enough reason to upgrade. I've got an HD TV, I watch things in HD whenever I can - getting my Godzilla movies in HD is a priority.

... plus, my Sony Gigan disc is kind of glitchy.

With Toho breathing down the neck of anyone trying to drum up some special features it wouldn't surprise me if all future Godzilla discs are bare-bones!
