In February, Mill Creek will release a budget DVD set of MOTHRA, THE GIANT CLAW, 20 MILLION MILES TO EARTH and IT CAME FROM BENEATH THE SEA. Cover art, details and product specs are now on SciFI Japan…

It's been funny seeing a shady company like Millcreek turn legit over the years. Still wish they had released their DAIMAJIN set on DVD though!

No Blu-Ray? :(

Well, I've been happy with their other releases, so maybe they'll be releasing a Blu-Ray later this year. ^_^

But that would make the set slightly more expensive to produce, thus they'd have to charge slightly more for it, thus it would fail at the core thing Mill Creek does.

^Like I said: they have their bargain bin releases and their more quality ones. For those bargain releases they want to present something that's cheap, but has the sense that it's a great value for the buyer. A bargain.

They could've made this release two discs, but then the price would go up - making it less of a bargain.

They could've made two double features instead of one release, but again: two movies for a low price isn't as enticing as four - less of a bargain.

Mill Creek is cheap.

In other news, punching a baby in the face with brass knuckles is bad.

If you're buying four movies on one disc for $10 in a DVD bin, you should absolutely know what kind of quality you're getting.

Also, most of the average consumers that buy these things don't care.

If the disc is a DVD-18 (double-sided, double-layered), four films on one disc won't be a probl :?: em.

This is such an easy pass for me that it's not even funny.

The only reason its a pass for me is that I'm only interested in expanding my blu ray collection. I'll only pick up a DVD if I believe there is no chance of it coming out on blu ray for a long time. Or its extremely rare and I can get it for the right price.
