What we think:
There will be a rash of Godzilla re-releases/new to Blu-ray releases in the wake of/just before the 2014 Legendary film.

What we know:
Gojira and Godzilla vs. Biollante are the only films currently released on blu in the US (and Destroy All Monsters...but the disc is currently OOP and difficult to obtain for a reasonable amount of money).
Sony no longer owns the rights to their Showa titles.
Sony still owns the rights (until roughly 2020) to their Heisei and Millenium titles.

What we don't know:
Who owns or may be interested in the rights to the films that have lapsed from Sony's ownership
Who the HELL owns Godzilla 1985/Godzilla's Return
If there will be any releases in the wake of/just before the 2014 Legendary film.


If there's anything else feel free to add...and keep it civil. I might be the only one that's drunk right now, but we're all friends here.

One company (besides Shout) I wouldn't want to release Godzilla films is definitely Twilight Time. They always seem to limit their stuff to only 1,000 copies, barely have extras and charges 30 dollars a set. When their sets become out of print, they go for insane money.

At this point the only G films I don't have on DVD are 'Sea Monster', 'Son of' and '85'. I am probably more interested in the first two over the third even though they have had releases already.

I would love to see G85 get a dual Japanese/American version release. I have both on VHS.

I still think WB will most likely be the one to do it.

I want to apologize in advance about dragging this garbage into the new thread, but there's some matters that need to be addressed...

Some of you received PMs from TylerPreston20 with a screenshot of an email I supposedly sent to Ben Wagner about his Criterion "news". As most of you realized, I didn't write or email that message to Ben. The email is -- like every other email Tyler has shared this week -- a lie.

The author of the fake Cliff Macmillan email used incorrect punctuation. The author of the fake email from me made the exact same mistake. It's the same person.

Tyler, since the guy you say is the "real Ben Wagner" keeps sending you fake emails from other people you need to wake up and realize your "real Ben Wagner" has been lying to you. And if you or the "real Ben Wagner" get any further emails, PMs, letters, smoke signals, etc supposedly from me, SciFi Japan or someone speaking on my behalf they're also fake. I'm not writing anything to the "real Ben", and any communications I have with you will be in public for everyone to see.

Lastly, you're a step away from being permanently banned here. This forum is for the sharing of information, not garbage that you've been repeatedly told are lies. And now you've sent a lie about me (one of the admins here) to several people. Enough is enough... if there is one more incident with you, you're gone.

What you do on your own YouTube page is your own business. But you sent messages to several members of this forum lying about me, which not a good thing to do with one of the board administrators. The only reason you're still here is I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt... but that will only go so far.

The email Ben said he got from me was a lie. And that means one of two things...

1. You didn't realize Ben was lying to you. That means you just got used by your "friend" and you need to do something about it.
2. You knew it was a lie and spread it anyway.

If you don't call out Ben for his lies, everyone here will know you're actively working with him to spread lies and cause trouble. That won't be tolerated here.

Didn't take long for this to devolve

I just realized my Gigan disc has a glitch last time I watched it. Just watching the movie it's fine, but when I try to jump back and forth through the chapters during the middle portion of the film it freezes and I have to reload the disc.

I know this is old news, but maybe it's a start at getting the BD's of Destroy All Monsters back into print again in the near future?

Media Blasters on their FB page has said that the issues with DAM and Megalon are now cleared up but it'd take some time to get the discs back out. My guess is they're holding out for LP's Godzilla film to drop to get them out so they can ride whatever wave comes from that.

Also going in on what Cody said didn't Toho deny Sony the right to use Son of Godzilla and Sea Monster's Titra dubb because they wheren't sure who owned the license to that audio tracks? That was several years ago so maybe things have cleared up by then.
