Uh oh...looks like the R4 Destroy All Monsters/Godzilla vs. The Cosmic Monster double feature DVD has been released.

You have to give these guys credit for their very clever DVD covers though.

Which dub is being used for Destroy All Monsters? AIP or International?

I'm not sure. That's something I was wondering as well. If it's being taken from a 16mm print (that is..an old TV print) than it could very well be the AIP dub...but if the DVDs have been lisenced by Toho..then it's probably the international dub.

I know that "Cosmic Monster" will probably be the same really horrible print that Goodtimes used on their VHS release (think Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla..heavily edited and in "bad Megalon print orange vision").

I'd guess its the International dub. After all, this is most likely going to be from a print that resides in Australia.

When I saw Bionic Monster[ and that was the name it was shown under, I have the original newspaper ads to prove it.] in the theater all of the above scenes were there. And although I haven't watched the video in awhile, I don't remember the scenes being missing then either.

Really? that's interesting. Maybe my copy of "Godzilla vs. Cosmic Monster" was taken from a TV Print that was edited to fit in a certain time slot. hmmm

Does anyone else here have that "Cosmic Monsters" tape?

This is interesting news from :

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tues., Nov. 25: DAM good news!

Andy R., DMI's unofficial correspondent from down under, sent in some information concerning the Destroy All Monsters / Godzilla vs. The Cosmic Monster double feature DVD recently released in Australia by Siren Visual Entertainment. Apparently, Siren's version of DAM is the long out-of-print AIP version of the movie! This version is the one originally released in U.S. theaters and syndicated to television. It disappeared from circulation in the 1980's, and was replaced by Toho's own "international" dub, which has since been shown on the Sci-Fi Channel and released on video by ADV Films. Many fans consider the AIP version to be superior. Siren's product page lists this disk as region free. However, G-fans looking for a bit of nostalgia by importing it should remember that it is in PAL format. So check your player compatibility!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Looks like it might actually be the AIP dub afterall. Kind of neat if it is (I could care less...I have a nice widescreen VHS copy of the AIP dub of DAM) [/url]

I hope Siren Visual releases a Region Free DVD with the AIP version of Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster on it.
