Monster Zero x SciFi Japan - Archive Only

Thanks Keith for giving us a heads up here at clubtokyo. I'm a crazy WWII military, navy, airforce nut and have been hoping for a film to come out like this. You know a film made with modern special effects techniques documenting the Pearl Harbour and Battle of Midway from the Japanese perspective. The special effects definitely look more than decent, which is suprrising because I thought the CGI in most Japanese films dont usually look this good. Looks almost as good as something from Clint Eastwood's Flags of our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima. So this film came out last year in Japan? Man it snuck under my radar. Is there any plans for a North American release?

You're very welcome, Sachiel. Yes, the movie opened in Japan last December, and no, I haven't heard about plans for a North American release.

hmm, looks interesting. Any idea what region code the bluray will be? It'd be nice if it would play on my U.S. PS3...

Just wanted to say, to those that are interested that this UK blu ray release for The Admiral is indeed region free. The blu ray disc can be imported and will work on PS3s and blu ray players in other territories including North America.
