Some corrections have been made in the listings. Apparently the single disc WILL have the director's cut, but no additional features.
And apparently the directors cut and the theatrical cuts for the second film are WILDLY different. Maybe the DC of BR2 is acually good?
Regardless, I'm buying the set for the comprehensive special features discs... and it will be nice to see BR2 for myself and make up my own mind after all these years. And the set actually has decent artwork (the art for the single disc is awful).

Seriously, what's with the single disc artwork? Why are their weapons floating like a playstation game? WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST USE THE POSTER?!

Well, I finished the Hunger Games book today. Wow, it really felt like a watered down version of Battle Royale. Everyone that goes and sees Hunger Games owes it to themselves to see Battle Royale and see the concept done right.
Here's one of summations of The Hunger Games in the books thread, "This book is exactly what I thought it would be....a watered down version of Battle Royale with a hint of Twilight-esque romance/teenage lust."
The book, really, REALLY, pulls its punches. The lead characters really aren't forced to do anything horrible, or for that matter, heroic. Almost the entire narrative seems to take place in a cave as a boy tries to keep his unrequited love in check for the girl he's stuck in the cave with.
It's not written badly. It's just not anywhere near as good as it could of been. In short, it's not Battle Royale.

Screw this movie, the more you guys talk about it, the more I kind of really want to go and re-read the novel. XD
