Anyone here pick up the recent release of the LOTR Extended Edition on Blu-Ray? How was the quality? Worth picking up if already have the extended versions on DVD?

I heard the first movie has an annoying green tint over the whole thing. Other than that, I've heard nothing but good things.

yes, the FOTR EE bluray is . Kinda sucks, imo.

Wow the green makes the whole thing look kind of murky. I wonder why WB is having so much trouble with the HD releases of these movies?

If I remember correctly, the Blu-Ray releases of the theatrical versions are not as sharp and/or clear as they ought to be.

I'm all set to order this, but the green tint thing turns me off.... I guess I'll wait to see if there is any official word or acknowledgement (ie: plans to correct) on this.....

Here is a side-by-side comparison of that greenish tint, if it's accurate then it's a shame, but I'm not sure what to believe from this, if anything.....
