I enjoyed it. I feel like I'd need to see it again to really give an informed opinion (and I wouldn't mind doing so at all) but I do feel like even if it wasn't FANTASTIC, I'd rather take what we got than some overly-sanitized Dreamworks-style CG animation.

Just got this neat box set today from Amazon, only 60 dollars. 
Also, got this just because it's shot in a creepy little town by the Salton Sea, a place right out of a David Lynch (or John Waters) movie. It's so strange there, and I love it.... as for this movie, I expect that it's going to be a little too precious and enamoured of itself, so we'll see...

I'm currently trying to abstain from DVD/Blu-ray purchases as I've built up quite the back-catalogue of unwatched titles, so I'm trying to watch everything before I start regularly buying again. However, I've been meaning to get SON OF KONG for years now, and I managed to get the Region 1 on eBay for a grand total of only £3!
