Shout! Factory is finally releasing a boxed set of all five GAMERA episodes of MST3K on August 2, 2011! MST3K Vol. XX: "MST3K vs. Gamera" will be dropping on August 2, 2011, in a special tin box featuring Episodes 302: GAMERA, 304: GAMERA VS. BARUGON, 308: GAMERA VS. GAOS, 312: GAMERA VS. GUIRON and 316: GAMERA VS. ZIGRA.The Special Features will include these on-screen extras: "So Happy Together: A Look Back at MST3K and Gamera", "Gamera vs. The Chiodo Brothers", "Gamera Obscura: A Brief History by August Ragone (author of 'Eiji Tsuburaya: Master of Monsters')", as well as all of the original Japanese trailers & five limited-edition mini-posters by artist Steve Vance!

^Gah, I hate people like that. Especially annoying was some guy at one of the Rifftrax Live simulcasts - we came to hear Mike Nelson and company talk over the movie, thank you very much! He was much booed at.

You guys just reminded me of the ONLY thing I have had an issue with Godzilla & Friends in Topeka, KS (plug, this weekend!..): Some people in the audience just don't know how to behave themselves. I really wish the guys running it would be more strict about that. Laughing appropriately is fine, adding entire lines of dialogue is not. This is what nearly ruined King Kong vs. Godzilla for me a couple years ago.

But either way, what MST3K does doesn't really bother me. I'll gladly be buying the set. If they were really maliciously going after the films, that's one thing. But I think you can joke around with these films, especially the more questionably-dubbed ones, and still be a hardcore fan that gives them respect.

Was it Godzilla vs. Megalon that ended with Joel thanking Forrester for "Not sending such a bad movie this time?"

The four Russian fantasy films featured on MST3K are awesome. I wouldn't mind having the original versions.
