This Tuesday (March 22) WB will be releasing The Last Dinosaur though their burn on demand program, and selling them on their online shop.
And at the current time, the coupon code XB692 works to get 20% off the cost. Don't forget they also have The Green Slime, it works for any amount of DVDs. I already preordered, and finally bought my copy of The Green Slime.

I know a lot of people don't like the "burn on demand" method, but from a company stand point, it's a really nice idea. They make nothin but profit on these types of releases. I'll probably order this eventually when it's available on Amazon. I'll be ordering The Green Slime through Amazon pretty soon.

According to my contacts a Warner Bros the LAST DINOSAUR DVD will be 16x9 widescreen. I haven't received my copy yet so I can't say for sure.
The point of the Warner Archive and similar programs from MGM and Sony is for studios to offer titles that they don't believe would sell sufficiently through retailers. The chances that these films will get a wide home video release in the near future is probably around 0%, so if you want American DVDs of these films that are sourced from studio materials this is the only option available.
I have a few Warner Archive DVDs and they look fine to me. The comments I've seen posted on forums like Classic Horror Film Boards and Mobius seem generally positive... some discs look better than others, which is to be expected considering these films aren't major titles for the studio and aren't being restored for DVD. The best elements from the studio vaults are what's being used.

Nice to see it getting SOME release, but I can't stand the Archive method.
Not sure if this movie is worth the money either. I mean, its a complete bore aside from Richard Boone's awful, drunken, angry acting.

Alas, Warner Archive's theme this week was "The Forgotten Valley of Cult Films" with "The Last Dinosaur" being the only creature feature released (but they also did include Hanna-Barbara's "Valley of the Dinosaurs" which I thought was cool back in the day).

^My understanding is that the Archive has been so successful that they've been doing restorations for select, higher profile titles (of which The Green Slime is one).
