Whatever.

It's probably the same damn thing we've seen before.

Lame.

Lets be optimistic. :P

In this case optimism seems really pointless. It's packaged with another movie that's nowhere near being related to Godzilla (as far as I know) and ADV is having a lot of financial trouble right now.

Sure sounds like a brand new, perfected special edition to me, don't you think? :P

kiryugoji, that's quite incorrect. ADV wasn't in any trouble. They were having some difficulty with the anime licensor that they were dealing with which prompted a slight disruption in their publishing schedule.

While this is the first time it has happened with an anime company, it happens from time to time with manga publishers.

At any rate, the whole mess came up because ADV Films decided to pull out of the U.K. and allow the distribution of their titles by U.K. distributors and this forced them to remove various animt titles from their website.

They continue to publish titles and the problems that occured in January are all but gone. Everyone thinks that since Geneon departed, that it's having a rippling effect, which is conpletely untrue.

FUNimation, Bandai Entertainment, and various other companies are starting to pick up Geneon's anime title for distribution with FUNimation leading the charge.

Sounds like the old DVD is just being repackaged with some other movie as a 2 pack.

Who cares?

I don't really understand the whole process of it all, but I don't think they could just take their copy of DAM and "make it anamorphic". It probably wouldn't enhance the qquality of the video, I'd assume. They'd probably have to go out of their way to get a new copy/print from Toho, which I don't see happening. It's funny how Madman has such a better DAM than ADV, when ADV has, quite apparently, worked with Madman before (I think some of their shared anime use the American voice tracks, I'd assume they're getting them from ADV).
