lol I was just about to post that I got the same email. I'm not going to send in the disc with the chance that I might not get a new one (not to mention 8 weeks to wait).

I might just order one off Amazon and see if it has the new info on the packaging. If not, I'll just ship it back.

Not to mention shipping the disc to EC is going to cost me the same amount to just buy a new copy.

I'm with you Kain on this one. Buying from either Best Buy or Amazon seems like a better deal to me! However, I just got to ask, has anyone here had any luck with getting a copy of Biollante from Amazon or Best Buy without the defective audio?

Well I went looking today and neither Walmart nor Best Buy had it. I was kind of hoping that Kain was partially wrong and a few would still have them.

I did find a copy though, at FYE. For $15. I still bought it. It had the DTS icon at the bottom and everything so I knew it was what I was looking for. The expence is just a convenience fee.

How can I verify if I have the disc? The only bluray drive I have is in my PS3. What's the best scene to jump to and listen?

I already own the original release, but on an impulse, I bought a copy for $8 from Target yesterday. With this thread on my brain and the bluray just happening to sit on the shelf in front of me, I thought I should take a gamble. I'm now loading the disc and realizing I should have passed when I saw that it included "2 free movies" (Monster and Shark vs Octopus). I thought there would be 3 discs inside unceremoniously stacked on top of each other, but no, all three movies are on one disc. Loading up Biollante, I see it only has one audio track, 2.0 English, and nothing else. Crap. At least it was only 8 bucks.

Doesn't matter if it has Engrish, it is still far superior to anything the dub can provide as a whole. Hell, the one dude calls him Godziller.

Okay, Amazon is pissing me off. I ordered the <hopefully fixed> Biollante disc two weeks ago and it said it was going to ship out on the 23rd. It still has yet to even process.

Also, I emailed EB again in response to the email they sent me and they say it is their policy to not replace items until they have received the defective one. Oooooooooooooooooooooookay... Then how...

I don't care what anyone says, I consider the dubing of GvB one of the top 2 ever (right there with GvMZ). It's the only way I'll watch the movie).

Like I said, all of the Hong Kong dubs recorded prior to '93 were in mono. Toho would have to make stereo mixes of those dubs, and if they haven't ever done that up to this point, I don't expect them to start now. It sucks, but what can you do.

I do agree that the dub sounds worse than it did on even the HBO VHS, and I'm not really sure why that is considering they ripped the audio from the HBD LaserDisc.

I emailed Echo Bridge about a replacement on 3/21 and just got it in the mail today. They did warn that it could take up to 8 weeks for delivery.
